Hilary Duff Responds To Child Sex Trafficking Allegations

Hillary Duff is shutting down reports involving one of her children. The former Disney star found herself trending on Twitter for baseless allegations regarding her participation in child sex trafficking. The rumors stemmed from a since-deleted Instagram post that showed Duff’s 8-year-old son, Luca Cruz, lying down without any clothes, and a subsequent Instagram video where the 32-year-old actress addressed the photo, which was eventually censored. “Someone pointed out on Instagram that I did a nude of him, which I did,” Duff said while showing off her family photos, “so we covered that up with [a] sticker.”

Countless fans immediately jumped to Duff’s defense, however a number of Twitter trolls continued to insinuate the picture in question was proof she was participating in child sex trafficking. Duff called the allegations disgusting and condemned the individual who started the rumor.

Duff shares Luca with her ex-husband Mike Comrie, whom she divorced in 2016. She also has a 1-year-old daughter, Banks Violet Bair, with husband Matthew Koma.

Jimmie Johnson Disqualified From Charlotte 600 After Car Fails Inspection

Jimmie Johnson was disqualified from the Coca-Cola 600, after his No. 48 Chevrolet failed post-race inspection. Johnson had finished second Monday morning behind Brad Keselowski at Charlotte Motor Speedway. After the DQ, Johnson and his team were relegated to a last-place finish, and earned only one point in the race.

NASCAR Cup Series managing director Jay Fabian said the car went through the Optical Scanning Station (OSS) and failed the post-race alignment numbers. The failure was in the rear alignment. “It’s the same thing we checked at least a handful of cars for post-race after every event,” said Fabian. “I can’t really give specifics on the numbers. Yes, there is a pre-race number and a post-race number that does give a pretty tolerance (and) it was outside of those post-race numbers.”

Johnson had a chance to win his fifth Coca-Cola 600, leading in six laps during the race.

NHL Moves To Small-Group Training In Phase 2 Of Return

The NHL is expected to move to Phase 2 of its return-to-play protocol early next month, which includes the opening of practice facilities as well as allowing small group workouts

NHL was forced to pause its season on March 12 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.  They released a 22-page memo detailing their return-to-play plan on Monday, saying there’s no exact date for the start of Phase 2 or a timetable for how long it will last. Only six players will be allowed in team facilities at one time for the voluntary workouts, and no on-ice coaching or instruction is permitted.

On-ice sessions will be non-contact and players will be expected to maintain physical distancing at all times. Players will be required to wear masks when entering and exiting facilities and when not able to physically distance, except for when they’re practicing/exercising.

The final two phases of the return-to-play protocol — training camps followed by a resumption of play — were not mentioned in the memo.
