Morgan Wallen Apologizes For Disorderly Conduct Arrest

Morgan Wallen took to social media to apologize for his arrest on public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges over the weekend.  Wallen also thanked the arresting officers for their professional behavior.

Nashville police arrested the 27-year-old around 11PM after observing security kick him out of Kid Rock’s honky tonk in downtown Nashville. Security escorted him out after he began kicking glass items inside the bar and music venue, and officers say he posed a danger to himself and the public. Police arrested Wallen for “being intoxicated in public, unable to take care of himself, and the reasonable likelihood the offense would continue.” Wallen’s bond was set at $500 for the two charges.

Wallen apologized on Twitter: “Hey y’all just wanted to clear the air. I went out downtown last night with a few old friends. After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn’t mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected.Thank you to the local authorities for being so professional and doing their job with class,” he added. “Love y’all.”

CBS Picks Up John Krasinski’s YouTube Series ‘Some Good News’

Millions have tuned into John Krasinski’s show Some Good News on YouTube, which he started from his home during the pandemic. Now, Krasinski has announced he sold Some Good News to ViacomCBS, and he won’t be the host.

Krasinski started SGN after questioning why there isn’t a news network dedicated to good news only. He produced eight free episodes on YouTube, including an Office reunion/surprise wedding, a Hamilton performance, online graduations, and a virtual prom, all with famous surprise guests.

Krasinski tweeted following the announcement: “Wow, who can believe when we started this thing together we all just wanted good news to be more fully represented in our everyday lives. And now? You quite literally ARE the good news! Thanks to you, SGN lives on, joining the ranks of this historic news network! See you all soon!” Krasinski will continue to serve as an executive producer and make cameos on SGN, but he won’t host; as of press time, a new host has not yet been named.

In the eighth — and possibly final — episode that aired last week, Krasinski announced that “we’re taking a break for now, but there is more to come! Stay tuned.”

Lana Del Rey Responds To Backlash Over Controversial Comments Regarding Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé

Lana Del Rey has shared another response to the controversy generated by one of her recent Instagram posts. In her original post (which can be viewed here), Del Rey appeared to call out female artists Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, who “have had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, fucking, cheating etc”.

Del Rey’s comments caught backlash on Instagram, with some suggesting that Del Rey appeared to be criticizing women of color. Del Rey responded to her fans’ criticisms on her original post, saying that she wrote that “when I said people who look like me – I meant the people who don’t look strong or necessarily smart, or like they’re in control etc. It’s about advocating for a more delicate personality, not for white woman – thanks for the Karen comments tho. V helpful.”

Del Rey then shared a second response to her original Instagram post, with the caption, “A couple of final notes on my ‘controversial post’ that’s not controversial at all. I’m sorry that the folks who I can only assume are super trump/pence supporters or hyper liberals or flip-flopping headline grabbing critics can’t read and want to make it a race war, when in fact the issue was with *female critics and *female alternative artists. In truth making it about race says so much more about you than it does about me.”

Man Who Recorded Video Of Ahmaud Arbery Being Shot Arrested On Murder Charge

Officials announced Thursday that the man who filmed video of two white men fatally shooting an unarmed a black man who was jogging down a road, has now also been arrested on murder charges. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.50 year-old William “Roddie” Bryan Jr. is expected to face charges of felony murder and criminal intent to commit false imprisonment in connection with the killing of 25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery.

Bryan Jr. is the third man to be arrested in connection with the Feb. 23 fatal shooting. Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son Travis McMichael, 34, were arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault earlier this month after the video Bryan filmed of the Feb. 23 fatal shooting was made public. Bryan is a neighbor of the McMichaels and lives within a mile of where Arbery was fatally shot.  Bryan followed the father and son in his own vehicle as they chased Arbery down the road. The two men told police that they believed Arbery was a suspect in a string of break-ins in the neighborhood.  Bryan “attempted to block” Arbery when he tried to run back in the direction he came from after Travis McMichael attempted to cut him off in his vehicle.

In a statement on Thursday, attorneys said Arbery’s family was “relieved” to learn about Bryan’s arrest and thanked the Bureau of Investigation for their work on the case.

NFL Player Sues United Airlines With Allegations Of Sexual Assault During Flight

An unidentified NFL player filed a lawsuit against United Airlines, saying another passenger sexually assaulted and harassed him during a February flight.

According to the complaint filed, the unnamed player boarded a red-eye flight from Los Angeles to Newark, New Jersey, late Feb. 10.  A female passenger, described in the lawsuit as a “middle-aged, Caucasian female,” was seated next to him and began questioning why the player was wearing a facemask, which, per to the complaint, was to be proactive about the spread of COVID-19. Eventually, the woman allegedly began engaging in “verbal and/or physical conduct of a sexual nature” toward the NFL player, identified as “John Doe 1” from Essex County, New Jersey. Another plaintiff in the lawsuit is listed as “John Doe 2,” who does not play in the league and resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both are identified in the lawsuit as black males.

The civil suit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, seeking both punitive and statutory damages.  The suit alleges the flight attendants aboard the United flight did not act appropriately to deal with the woman’s alleged behavior. Per the complaint, the woman “admitted she was drinking and had taken pills” and was moved to another row when flight attendants arrived to the row.

“The safety and well-being of our customers is always our top priority,” a United spokeswoman said.  The lawsuit did not state why it was filed anonymously. A message to the unnamed player’s lawyer was not immediately returned.
