Scotty McCreery Scores No. 1 Single With “In Between”

Scotty McCreery has earned his third consecutive No. 1 single with “In Between.”  The track reached the top of both the Billboard Country Airplay chart and Mediabase chart this week.

“In Between” follows Scotty’s previous No. 1 singles “Five More Minutes” and “This Is It.” All three songs are from Scotty’s 2018 album, Seasons Change.

Said Scotty via Instagram, “This one is extra sweet! ‘In Between’ has been one of my favorite songs since we wrote it in 2015. It was a grind with this song, and that’s what makes it so awesome for it to be on top of the country charts this week! To country radio, I can’t thank you enough for giving my music a chance. Thank you for supporting this album as much as you have. 3 in a row is crazyyy!!!”

Jimmy Kimmel Apologizes For Old Resurfaced Blackface Sketches

Jimmy Kimmel is apologizing for recently resurfaced sketches of him in blackface. Kimmel issued a lengthy statement on Tuesday addressing the controversy, less than a week after announcing he would be taking the rest of the summer off to spend time with his family.

Said Kimmel:  “I have long been reluctant to address this, as I knew doing so would be celebrated as a victory by those who equate apologies with weakness and cheer for leaders who use prejudice to divide us. That delay was a mistake. There is nothing more important to me than your respect, and I apologize to those who were genuinely hurt or offended by the makeup I wore or the words I spoke.” Kimmel addressed the sketches, which originated from The Man Show, Kimmel’s comedy series with Adam Carolla that aired from 1999 to 2004 on Comedy Central.

In his statement, he noted that his summer vacation had “been planned for more than a year and includes the next two summers off as well. I will be back to work in September,” he said. “Thank you for giving me an opportunity to explain and to those I’ve disappointed, I am sorry.”

Vince Neil Mourns Death of His Beloved Dog

Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil is in mourning the sudden death of his six year old dog California Wolf Neil, a.k.a. “Cali.” Neil is blaming the sudden death of his pooch on his neighbors and their “two evil neighbor dogs.”  Neil posted this statement on Instagram:

“With a heavy heart we share the news that our beloved California Wolf Neil has gone to heaven. Her passing was tragic. She was brutally murdered on our front door by two evil neighbor dogs, which is caught on our security cameras. Our neighbors are trying to cover it up and say that she ran two football fields to their pasture and their long horn steers killed her!! Please pray for her justice because her killers are still running free!! Cali touched every person she came in contact with and was loved by all. We wish we could have her back. But we know it’s the circle of life and she will come back to us in her next life. Thank you all for your support and love during these difficult times. We will be posting and sharing more photos of her as we have almost 6 years of beautiful memories with her. She had the ‘it factor’ and was perfect in every way. She had a pure soul, loved with her whole heart and could never hurt a soul. We always prayed for her protection and that she would never feel any pain. She had a beautiful life and a horrific sudden end. But she’s in heaven now and she got her wings ????????‍♀️ We will be patiently waiting to see her again ???? #justiceforcali#rip 7-8-2014 – 6-18-2020″

Louisville Police Officer Fired Over Fatal Shooting Of Breonna Taylor

One of three officers involved in the shooting death of Breonna Taylor, the black woman killed by gunfire when drug investigators burst into her home in Louisville, Kentucky, was dismissed from the police department on Tuesday. Two other officers involved in the raid remain on administrative reassignment. No criminal charges have been filed against any of the three.

26-year-old Taylor, an emergency medical technician, was killed on March 13 after the officers entered her apartment bearing a “no-knock” arrest warrant. Louisville police chief Robert Schroeder wrote that detective Brett Hankison “displayed an extreme indifference to the value of human life” when he “wantonly and blindly fired” 10 rounds into Taylor’s home. Schroeder said the gunshots were fired through a patio door and window covered with material obscuring Hankison’s line of sight, preventing him from knowing whether anyone was inside the apartment, or whether they posed a threat.

Taylor’s shooting returned to prominence following the May 25 death of George Floyd in Minneapolis while in police custody. That incident triggered nationwide protests against police brutality and racial bias in the U.S. criminal justice system.

A powerful 7.4 struck magnitude earthquake hit southern Mexico’s Pacific coast on Tuesday, killing at least six people and causing tremors hundreds of miles away in Mexico City The fatalities were near the quake’s epicenter in Oaxaca.

Buildings hundreds of miles away in Mexico City shook, and two people were injured and more than 30 buildings in the capital suffered damage, officials said.

Quakes of magnitudes over 7 are major earthquakes capable of widespread, heavy damage. The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration had warned that the Pacific coasts of Mexico and Central and South America faced a possible tsunami but later said the danger had passed. The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter of Tuesday’s quake was located 69 km (43 miles) northeast of the town of Pochutla.
