‘The Kissing Booth 3’ Will Hit Netflix Next Year

Just days after “The Kissing Booth 2” debuted on Netflix, the streaming service has announced a third installment coming in 2021, which has already been filmed.

The original “Kissing Booth,” directed by Vince Marcello and released in May 2018, told the story of high school student Elle Evans (Joey King), who falls in love with her best friend’s older brother, Noah Flynn, played by Jacob Elordi. The sequel sees their long-distance relationship tested as Noah heads off to college and Elle navigates the challenges of her senior year in high school.

Joey King, Joel Courtney, Taylor Zakhar Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Meganne Young announce that they are reprising their roles in the third film. King was also executive producer on the second movie.  Courtney said “The Kissing Booth 3” was filmed in secret at the same time as “The Kissing Booth 2” and is already in post-production. King added that filming both movies at the same time “was the hardest secret to keep ever.”

Netflix released a teaser trailer for part three which you can view at the link: here.

The U2 duo played the song as a tribute to their road crew while everyone is off the road due to the global pandemic. “Songs From An Empty Room” also served as a benefit for members of the Irish music industry, with proceeds from the music TV event going to support two local initiatives: Minding Creative Minds and the Association of Irish Stage Technicians (AIST) Hardship Fund.

“Stairway To Heaven” appeared on Led Zeppelin’s 1971 release, “Led Zeppelin IV”; one of the best-selling albums in music history, which sold more than 37 million copies worldwide, including 23 million in the US alone.

Federal Judge Orders Unemployment Payouts For Uber, Lyft Drivers

On Tuesday, a federal judge ruled that rideshare drivers must receive state unemployment benefits within 45 days. A group of drivers and an advocacy group called the New York Taxi Workers Alliance sued Gov. Andrew Cuomo in late May, arguing that Uber and Lyft drivers were entitled to benefits and that the state was stalling in paying them.

Ridesharing companies have long maintained that the drivers are independent contractors and therefore aren’t entitled to unemployment benefits. The matter was complicated by COVID-19 relief funding directed toward contractors.

In the ruling for the drivers, U.S. District Judge LaShann DeArcy Hall wrote: “Defendants have no cognizable interest in failing to pay benefits to (For Hire Vehicles) claimants when due. Defendants’ only argument advanced on this point is that [in] the current economic climate, it would be imprudent to dedicate resources to providing preliminary relief requested by Plaintiffs. To the contrary, it is precisely because of the current economic climate that such immediate relief is demanded.”

U.S. Department of Agriculture Warns Against Planting Of Unsolicited Seeds Received From China

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is warning Americans not to plant unsolicited packages of seeds that appear to be arriving from China. States have also told residents not to put the seeds in the ground, after they arrived in the mailboxes of people who did not order them. Officials said the seeds could grow invasive species that threaten crops or livestock.

On Tuesday, the USDA said it was collecting the seeds and would test them to determine if they were a concern to agriculture or the environment, and was working with the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection to investigate the packages. The packages “appear to be coming from China,” according to the USDA.

U.S. states, including Washington and Alabama, labeled the shipments as “agricultural smuggling.” Photos distributed by state agriculture departments show seeds of different sizes, shapes and colors in white or yellow envelopes and some packages were labeled as jewelry and may have contained Chinese writing.

MLB Suspends Marlins’ Season Through Weekend Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Major League Baseball suspended the Miami Marlins’ season through Sunday, and the Philadelphia Phillies will remain idled by the coronavirus pandemic until Friday. MLB came up with a patchwork schedule for the rest of this week, and confirmed that among more than 6,400 tests conducted since Friday, there were no new positives among on-field personnel from any team other than the Marlins.

In a statement, MLB said it wanted to allow the Marlins time to focus on providing care for their players and plan for a resumption of play early next week. MLB also postponed the three remaining games in this week’s Phillies-New York Yankees series. The Marlins remain in Philadelphia, where they played last weekend, and plan to stay until at least Wednesday. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health said it was working with the Marlins and Phillies on contact tracing to contain the spread of the virus.

The Marlins received positive test results for four additional players, bringing their total to 15. The Marlins underwent another round of tests Tuesday morning, as their outbreak raised anew questions about baseball’s attempts to conduct a season.

Additional MLB rescheduling during the week of Aug. 3 will be announced later this week.
