Cyberattacks From Iran, Russia And China Targeting President Election In U.S.

On Thursday, Microsoft said it has detected an increase in cyberattacks from China, Iran and Russia, related to the upcoming presidential election this November. Microsoft said the attacks have targeted hundreds of people and organizations involved in both the Biden and Trump campaigns.

The tech giant said In China, a group known as Zirconium has attempted to gain intelligence on the upcoming U.S. election starting in March and continuing through this month. The group allegedly caused 150 compromises targeting the presidential candidates, their campaigns, and prominent individuals and organizations in the international affairs community. The company said Zirconium used something called “web bugs” or “web beacons,” sending a URL as targeted emails or text messages to determine if the recipients’ accounts are active.

In Iran, a group known as Phosphorus allegedly attempted to access the personal or work accounts of people involved in the U.S. presidential election between May and June. And in Russia, a group known as Strontium allegedly carried out attacks between September 2019 and this month to harvest login information for more than 200 organizations directly or indirectly affiliated with elections. The organization was previously blamed for a cyberattack on the Democratic presidential campaign in 2016.

Los Angeles Lakers Defeat Houston Rockets In Game 4 Of Playoffs To Take 3-1 Series Lead

The Los Angeles Lakers took a 3-1 lead in the playoff series against the Houston Rockets with a 110-100 victory in Game 4 on Thursday.

Anthony Davis scored a game-high 29 points while LeBron James finished one assist shy of a triple double, leading the Lakers to their third straight win in the series.

The Lakers now move one game away from the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2010. Game 5 is scheduled for Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.

Luke Combs released two videos for his No 1 single, “Lovin’ on You” earlier this year: an acoustic video, and a lyric video.  Now Combs has released the ‘official’ music video for the track

Combs co-wrote Lovin’ on You with Thomas Archer, Ray Fulcher and James McNair, and it was released off his What You See Is What You Get album which dropped back in June. The new video was directed by Tyler Adams and produced by Aaron Conner, and Combs shared: “Had a blast making it with my beautiful wife @nicohocking, the band, and some younger versions of all of us. Check it out and let me know what y’all think.”

Listen To Florida Georgia Line’s New Single, “Long Live”

Florida Georgia Line will follow up their No. 1 hit “I Love My Country,” with the release of their latest single, “Long Live.”

“Long Live” will officially be released to country radio on Sept. 14. The tune will not be featured on FGL’s 2019 album, Can’t Say I Ain’t Country, or their 2020 EP, Six Pack, so it is expected to be the lead single to their upcoming fifth album.

Laurence Fishburne And Jennifer Lewis To Star In ‘Black-ish’ Spinoff, ‘Old-ish’

Variety is reporting that ABC is developing a spinoff starring Black-ish‘s matriarch and patriarch, Earl “Pops” Johnson and Ruby Johnson, portrayed by Jennifer Lewis and Laurence Fishburne. 

Titled Old-ish, the show will be centered around in the original series. In addition to Black-ish, ABC also airs Mixed-ish, which is centered around Tracee Ellis Ross’ character, Rainbow Johnson. Meanwhile, Grown-ish, starring Yara Shahidi, airs on Freeform.

Series creator Kenya Barris will serve as the writer and executive producer for the franchise’s fourth installment.

AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ Set to End After Season 11 In 2022

AMC has announced that “The Walking Dead” will end in late 2022 with an expanded Season 11 spanning 24 episodes, in addition to the 6 episodes left to air in Season 10.  Thus, there are only 30 episodes of “The Walking Dead” left before it takes its final bow in 2022.  

In addition, the network revealed plans for a new spinoff to debut in 2023 for two key characters: Daryl Dixon (portrayed by Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (portrayed by Melissa McBride.) The spinoff will be helmed by current “The Walking Dead” showrunner Angela Kang and chief content officer of “The Walking Dead” universe Scott M. Gimple. Gimple is working on an episodic series set in the universe of the zombie apocalypse called “Tales of the Walking Dead” that will feature one-off episodes and stories that take place within the same timeline.

Bruce Springsteen Debuts Title Track To Upcoming New Album, “Letter To You”

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced a new album, Letter To You, will be released October 23rd via Columbia Records.  Springsteen also unveiled the album’s lead single and title track, along with a lyric video starring him and the E Street Band.

Letter to You was recorded in just five days at Springsteen’s home studio, and will mark Springsteen’s 20th album. Said Springsteen, “I love the emotional nature of Letter To You.  And I love the sound of the E Street Band playing completely live in the studio, in a way we’ve never done before, and with no overdubs. We made the album in only five days, and it turned out to be one of the greatest recording experiences I’ve ever had.”

Letter To You consists of 9 original tracks, and three songs written early in Springsteen’s career, but left unreleased: Janey Needs A Shooter, If I Was The Priest and Song For Orphans. The album is available for pre-order now, and you can check the video for the title track at the link here.

Neil Peart Tribute Concert To Take Place At Modern Drummer Fest 2020

The late Rush drummer Neil Peart will be honored this Saturday with a tribute concert featuring famous musicians such as Mike Portnoy, Carl Palmer, Stewart Copeland, Taylor Hawkins, Chad Smith and more.

The tribute event will be held as part of this year’s Modern Drummer Festival, and will stream live at midnight UK time Saturday, September 12th at 8pm EST. Tickets allows you to stream the event stream the show on your mobile phone, tablet or computer, and can be purchased at the link here.

Peart passed away in January this year from brain cancer aged 67. The event is pay-per-view, tickets costing $12.99 and all proceeds going to brain tumor research at Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Also set to appear are Chicago’s Danny Seraphine, Carmine Appice, Def Leppard’s Rick Allen, Kenny Aronoff, Greg Bissonette, Todd Sucherman and more.

A Night For Neil, the Neil Peart tribute concert originally planned for May, but scuppered by the COVID-19 pandemic, will now take place in April 2021.

Halsey To Make Acting Debut In TV Series ‘The Player’s Table’

Halsey will make her acting debut in the dramatic television series, The Player’s Table. The show is based on the novel, They Wish They Were Us, by Jessica Goodman. Halsey is also producing the series, which is currently looking for a network.

The Player’s Table is set at a prep school in Long Island, New York. The series is set around high school senior, Jill Newman, played by Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney. Jill is trying to uncover the truth surrounding her best friend Shaila’s murder. Jill discovers that “players” in the school’s secret society may have something to do with it. Halsey will play the role of Rachel Calloway, a troubled young woman who helps Jill on her quest to find the truth about Shaila’s death. 

This will be Halsey’s film/television acting debut. Her co-star, Sydney Sweeney, previously starred with Halsey in her music video for “Graveyard.”

Netflix To Debut Blackpink Documentary ‘Light Up The Sky’

An upcoming Netflix documentary, Blackpink: Light Up The Sky will premiere on Netflix on October 14,  the streaming service tweeted. The new film follows the girl group – Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé – from their pre-debut as a group to their historic Coachella performance in 2019. The movie will feature exclusive interviews and never before seen footage.

Blackpink said in a press release: “We can’t wait to share our personal stories with Blinks all over the world through Netflix! We hope this film will bring joy and light to the viewers, and they will enjoy seeing our journey together on screen from the past four years.”
