BTS To Team Up With Jason Derulo And Jawsh 685 For ‘Savage Love’ Remix

BTS took to social media to announce that they’ll be teaming up with Jason Derulo and Jawsh 685 on their upcoming “Savage Love (Laxed — Siren Beat)” remix.

“#SavageLoveRemix This Friday @Jawsh_685 x @jasonderulo x #BTS,” the K-pop group captioned their video of the news on Twitter, which features the three acts performing the track’s viral, arm-waving TikTok dance via split screen. (In the clip, numerous members of BTS are seen wearing face masks as they do their choreography.)

Savage Love (Laxed — Siren Beat) was originally released back in June following a dispute over sample clearances and Derulo using the producer’s instrumental beat without permission in his version of the song. The track peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The “Savage Love (Laxed — Siren Beat)” remix is set to drop Friday (Oct. 2).

Tampa Bay Lightening Defeat Dallas Stars In Game 6 To Win Stanley Cup

The Tampa Bay Lightning won their first Stanley Cup since 2004 with a 2-0 win over the Dallas Stars in Game 6 of the series on Monday night. It is the Lightning’s second Cup in franchise history.

Tampa Bay defeated the Stars in a postseason that featured two Canadian ‘bubble’ sites due to the coronavirus pandemic. Lightning defenseman Victor Hedma won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.  Team captain, forward Steven Stamkos, had to sit out most of the series.  He last played in Game 3 of the final before being ruled out with a core muscle injury.

The NHL is the first of the four major North American professional sports leagues to crown a champion since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

House Democrats Unveil New $2.2T Proposal For COVID-19 Aid Bill

House Democrats unveiled a scaled-back $2.2 trillion aid on COVID-19 relief, even though there was no progress in continuing negotiations between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

The latest proposal would revive a $600-per-week pandemic jobless benefit and send a second round of $1,200 direct payments to most individuals. It would scale back an aid package to state and local governments to a still-huge $436 billion, send a whopping $225 billion to colleges and universities, and deliver another round of subsidies to businesses under the Paycheck Protection Program.

Pelosi said Monday that she remains in contact with Mnuchin, with whom she negotiated several earlier relief packages. The two spoke briefly on Sunday and Monday evening and are slated to talk again Tuesday morning, according to Pelosi spokesperson Drew Hammill..

Pelosi’s office has said she’s considering putting the new measure up for a floor vote if talks this week with the Trump administration prove fruitless. “Democrats are making good on our promise to compromise with this updated bill, which is necessary to address the immediate health and economic crisis facing America’s working families right now,” Pelosi said in a letter to her colleagues. “We have been able to make critical additions and reduce the cost of the bill by shortening the time covered for now.”

Microsoft 365 Outage Affects Multiple Services

Late on Monday, Microsoft Corp confirmed that a recent change it introduced likely caused a major outage, affecting users’ access to multiple Microsoft 365 services, including Outlook.com and Microsoft Teams. The developer of Windows and Office software said it did not “observe an increase in successful connections” even after it rolled back the change to mitigate the impact.

Microsoft said on its status page, “We’re pursuing mitigation steps for this issue. In parallel, we’re rerouting traffic to alternate systems to provide further relief to the affected users.”

Microsoft also said they were working to evaluate other solutions while they investigate the root cause of the outage.

LA Clippers Part Ways With Head Coach Doc Rivers After Seven Seasons

Doc Rivers has stepped down as head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers after seven seasons. The Clippers had a 49-23 record in the regular season, but blew a 3-1 series lead in the Western Conference semifinals against the Denver Nuggets.

Clippers owner Steve Ballmer said in a statement, “Doc has been a terrific coach for the Clippers, an incredible ambassador, and a pillar of strength during tumultuous times. He won a heck of a lot of games and laid a foundation for this franchise. I am immeasurably grateful to Doc for his commitment and contributions to the Clippers and the city of Los Angeles. I am also extremely confident in our front office and our players. We will find the right coach to lead us forward and help us reach our ultimate goals. We will begin the search and interview process immediately.”

Rivers said in a statement posted to Twitter, “Thank you Clipper Nation for allowing me to be your coach and for all your support in helping make this a winning franchise. When I took this job, my goals were to make this a winning basketball program, a free agent destination, and bring a championship to this organization. While I was able to accomplish most of my goals, I won’t be able to see them all through. Though it was a disappointing ending to our season, you are right there and I know what this team is capable of accomplishing with your support. Thank you to all the players, coaches and staff for helping us get here. Most importantly, thank you to the fans. We went through a lot, and I am grateful for my time here.”
