The Doors Drop Unreleased Version Of ‘Roadhouse Blues’

The Doors are planning to release an unreleased version of their 1970 classic, “Roadhouse Blues”, as the latest preview to the October 9 release of an expanded, deluxe 50th anniversary edition of “Morrison Hotel.”

The streaming audio takes fans directly in the studio, with Morrison saying, “Now the subject of this song is something that all of you have seen at one time or another, it’s an old roadhouse, We’re down in the South or in the Midwest or maybe on the way to Bakersfield, and we’re driving in a ’57 Chevy to an old roadhouse. Can you dig it? It’s about 1:30 and we’re not driving too fast, but we’re not driving too slow either. We’ve got a six-pack of beer in the car, and a few joints, and we’re just listening to the radio and driving to the roadhouse through nature. Dig it?”

The first two takes of the track are featured alongside several others on the newly-expanded second disc of “Morrison Hotel.” You can stream Roadhouse Blues here.

President Donald Trump And First Lady Melania Trump Test Positive For COVID-19

President Donald Trump announced early Friday morning that he and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID-19 and will begin to quarantine immediately.

Trump wrote on Twitter, “Tonight @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. Additional Wildfire Evacuations Ordered As Northern California Deals With Increasing Wind Conditions

Additional evacuations were ordered on Thursday in Northern California, as residents in the area braced for a return of powerful winds that could worsen the wildfires raging in the region’s wine country. The evacuations in the Napa Valley came as forecasters issued a red flag warning, the highest alert for wildfire danger, across large swaths of Northern, Central and Southern California. The alert went into effect on Thursday afternoon and is expected to remain in place through Friday. Napa and Sonoma counties, north of San Francisco, remained threatened by the Glass Fire, which ignited overnight Sunday in the Napa Valley and burned through nearly 57,000 acres as of Thursday afternoon. About 70,000 people were under evacuation orders

Gov. Gavin Newsom on Thursday pleaded with residents to heed evacuation orders, saying that the red flag weather conditions will likely turn the vast majority of embers whipped up by powerful winds into likely sources of ignition. Officials extended a hazardous air warning through Tuesday, pushing the number of “spare the air” alerts issued this year to a record 41.

House Of Representatives Passes $2.2 Trillion COVID-19 Stimulus Package

On Thursday, the House of Representatives voted to pass a $2.2 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill, despite both parties in Congress and the Trump administration remaining divided on what the package should include. The House voted 214-207 mostly along party lines to pass the measure Thursday night.

The measure is an update to the $3.4 trillion HEROES Act that passed in the House in May but never made it to the Senate floor. It includes $600 in weekly unemployment benefits through January and a second round of $1,200 payments mailed to taxpayers as well as a $500 check for dependents. It also sets aside $182 billion for grade schools, $39 billion for post-secondary institutions and $57 billion for childcare support, and would add funds to the Paycheck Protection Program.

However, the bill is not expected to move beyond the House as Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell has opposed the legislation, proposing a narrower measure that was blocked by Democrats.
