Halsey reacted to her Grammys snub by calling out the Recording Academy via an Instagram story on Saturday, Nov. 28. Halsey shared a lengthy message describing the problems she sees with the “elusive process” for selecting nominees and winners, even though she thinks the “post will blacklist [her].”
“The Grammys are an elusive process,” Halsey wrote. “It can often be about behind the scenes private performances, knowing the right people, campaigning through the grapevine, with the right handshakes and ‘bribes’ that can be just ambiguous enough to pass as ‘not-bribes’. And if you get that far, it’s about committing to exclusive TV performances and making sure you help the Academy make their millions in advertising on the night of the show.”
Halsey added that she’s “THRILLED” for her friends who were nominated. She celebrated Phoebe Bridgers, who is nominated for multiple Grammys, including Best New Artist, with a tweet. Halsey also indicated in another tweet that she’d congratulated others privately.
The 63rd Grammy Awards are set to air on Jan. 31, 2021.

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he will leave the White House if the Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden.
Trump, who continued to cast doubt on the election result, took questions from reporters from the Diplomatic Room of the White House following a series of video conferences with military service members on Thanksgiving, assuring he would leave the White House on Jan. 20. However the President went on to say “it’s going to be a very hard thing to concede” and declared that the Electoral College would be making a “mistake” by voting for Biden. He also continued to allege “massive fraud” related to the election, saying, “You’re going to see things happening over the next week or two that are going to be shocking to people.”
After Thanksgiving, President Trump said he plans to travel to Georgia to hold a campaign-style rally, which he suggested would be in support of the state’s two Republican incumbent senators who face runoff races.
The U.S. Supreme Court issued an injunction blocking New York’s governor from enforcing 10- and 25-person occupancy limits on religious institutions.
In an unsigned majority opinion, the court said the restrictions would violate religious freedom and are not neutral because they “single out houses of worship for especially harsh treatment.” While religious institutions were affected, businesses categorized as essential could admit as many people as they wish, the court said, and the list of such businesses included acupuncture facilities and others the court said were not essential. The court said there’s no evidence that the organizations that brought the lawsuit have contributed to the spread of Covid-19.
During a briefing call with reporters on Thanksgiving morning, NY Governor Andrew Cuomo said: “The Supreme Court ruling on the religious gatherings is more illustrative of the Supreme Court than anything else …. This was really just an opportunity for the court to express its philosophy and its politics. It doesn’t have any practical effects,” he said, adding, “The decision isn’t final. Second, it didn’t affect our mass gathering rules. So it didn’t mention those. It didn’t mention the overall limits.”
Washington moved into first place in the NFC East with a 41-16 Thanksgiving victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.
Antonio Gibson ran for three touchdowns as Washington beat its division rival on Thanksgiving for just the second time in 10 tries, the most frequent visitor for the Cowboys in their annual holiday home game. Washington (4-7) now moves ahead of Philadelphia (3-6-1) in the NFC East. It was the third win in five games since a five-game losing streak dropped Washington to 1-5.
Dallas lost for the fifth time in six games since star quarterback Dak Prescott’s season-ending ankle injury. The Cowboys were playing a day after strength coach Markus Paul died at a hospital following a medical emergency at the team’s facility.
Up next, Washington will play Pittsburgh on Dec. 6, and the Cowboys play at Baltimore next Thursday.
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has tested positive for COVID-19. The Ravens reported additional positive tests earlier Thursday, the day their game against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers was originally scheduled to be played. The contest has been postponed to Sunday. All signs point to backup Robert Griffin III starting behind center with Jackson out. Griffin took to Twitter late Thursday to express support for his teammates and to say that dealing with “this outbreak within the team is bigger than football.”
On Wednesday, the team disciplined strength and conditioning coach Steve Saunders for failing to report coronavirus symptoms and not consistently wearing his mask or tracking device while inside the facility. Earlier this week, Ravens running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram tested positive for COVID-19. Because of the outbreak, the Ravens’ facility will be off limits at least until Monday.

Morgan Wallen will be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on Oct. 10, said Morgan via Twitter, with the caption, “Let’s try this again.”
Morgan was originally slated to perform on SNL on Oct. 10, but was dismissed from the show after multiple videos surfaced of him ignoring social distancing protocols while in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Oct. 3 for the University of Alabama vs. Texas A&M football game. Morgan appeared in numerous TikTok videos that showed him partying at a bar, kissing women, performing at a house party and more—all without a mask.
Morgan will take the stage for two performances on Dec. 5, with Jason Bateman hosting the long-running late night comedy show.
Alicia Vikander is set to star in and executive produce the upcoming TV adaptation of Dial M For Murder.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the show is ‘Designed as an anthology series that will reset each season, the new take reimagines Frederick Knott’s 1952 play and its subsequent 1954 feature film by Alfred Hitchcock.” Adding another aspect to the reimagining, the anthology series will ‘tell the crime thriller from the female perspective.’ Vikander and writer/producer Terence Winter teamed with MGM/UA Television to develop the series, which currently has no network attached to it.
The 1954 film adaptation of Dial M For Murder revolves around an ‘ex-tennis pro’ named Tony Wendice,’ played by Ray Milland, who ‘wants to have his wealthy wife, Margot (Grace Kelly) murdered so he can get his hands on her inheritance.’ When he discovers Margot’s affair with Mark Halliday, Tony ‘comes up with the perfect plan to kill her.’
