Mickey Guyton welcomes baby boy named Grayson with husband Grant Savoy

Mickey Guyton announced the birth of her baby boy on Monday, Feb. 8. She wrote on Twitter with a picture of the newborn, “The hardest and most beautiful thing I have ever done. Welcome to the world Grayson!” The new mom added, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. – Psalm 30:5.”

Guyton and her husband, Grant Savoy, announced they were expecting their first child together back in August 2020. The pregnancy announcement came just days after the release of her new EP, Bridges. Last week she performed her song “Black Like Me” on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

Luke Bryan announces deluxe edition of his album ‘Born Here Live Here Die Here’

Luke Bryan will release a deluxe version of his #1 album BORN HERE LIVE HERE DIE HERE (Deluxe Edition), adding six new songs to the album’s original 10 tracks. Luke broke the news of the deluxe album to his fans live on Facebook, playing songs from the album including two of the new tunes, “Country Does” and “Waves.”

BORN HERE LIVE HERE DIE HERE was originally set to be released last April, but due to the pandemic the project was moved to August. It debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, making it Luke’s sixth consecutive appearance in the top position. The album contains three #1 hits – “Knockin’ Boots,” “What She Wants Tonight,” and “One Margarita.”

BORN HERE LIVE HERE DIE HERE (Deluxe Edition) is available to pre-order and limited edition t-shirt and boxsets are also available for pre-order exclusively in Luke’s official store. The album will officially drop on April 9, 2021.

‘Mank’ and ‘Minari’ lead the Critics Choice Awards Film Nominations: See The Full List of Nominees

The nominees for the 26th annual Critics Choice Awards were announced on Monday, with Mank leading with 12 nominations, followed by Minari with 10.

Mank is nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor for Gary Oldman, Best Supporting Actress for Amanda Seyfried,f an Best Director for David Fincher, amongst others. Minari is nominated for Best Picture, Best Actor for Steven Yeun, Best Supporting Actress for Yuh-Jung, Best Young Actor/Actress for Alan Kim, and Best Acting Ensemble, and more.

In the television categories, Ozark and The Crown lead the nominees with six nominations each. Netflix leads both film and television nominations with 72 in total. HBO/HBO Max comes in second with 24 nominations followed by Amazon Studios with 18.

The Critics Choice Awards, which honors both film and television, will take place live on The CW on March 7 at 7 p.m. EST. Taye Diggs is returning to host for the third consecutive year.

Christina Milian joins Starz series ‘Step Up’ in role originated by the late Naya Rivera

Christina Milian has joined the Starz series Step Up as Collette, a role originated by the late Naya Rivera. Rivera starred as Collette in the first two seasons of the series, which aired on YouTube before moving to Starz. Rivera died at the age of 33 in July from accidental drowning while boating with her 5-year-old son Josey.

Milian said in a statement: “I am so excited to join the Step Up family. I know I have massive shoes to fill. Naya was incredible. I hope to honor Naya, her family, friends and fans with a great performance.”  Series star Ne-Yo also said in a statement, “There is no replacing Naya. Let’s get that straight. Her spirit lives on in our memories and every part what this show is and will be. Christina has big shoes to fill and she knows it, which speaks to her poise and respect as a person and an artist. I’m more than certain of her ability to bring an energy and light to this character that Naya’s fans as well as the rest of the world will love. We’ve welcomed Christina with absolute open arms and have rallied around her with love and support. I’m excited and can’t wait for the world to see this!” 

Production on the new season of Step Up started in February in Atlanta. The first two seasons of Step Up will be available on Starz across all platforms and will begin airing on the network every Friday at 8 p.m. EST starting on March 5.

Wolfgang Van Halen reveals details for upcoming Mammoth WVH album

Wolfgang Van Halen has revealed the tracklist for the debut album from his solo band, “Mammoth WVH.”

Wolfgang shared the news in a video he has shared via social media. The album will be released sometime this spring and features 14 tracks, with the previously released tribute to his father Eddie Van Halen, “Distance”, labeled as a bonus track. Wolfgang released the single following Eddie’s death last fall after a long battle with cancer.

Mammoth WVH will also be making their late night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on February 11th.

LAMB OF GOD announce deluxe reissue of self-titled album coming in March

Lamb of God has revealed plans to issue a three-disc deluxe edition of last year’s critically acclaimed self-titled album. The deluxe reissue will feature the full record, along with two bonus tracks and a live version of the album, along with a DVD performance of Lamb Of God.

The deluxe reissue is set for release on March 26th via Epic Records. Pre-orders are available now, along with the bonus track “Ghost ShaLamb of the band’s two live stream events from September 2020, in which the band performed their critically acclaimed, self-titled album in full, and the debut live performance of “The Death Of Us,” a new song the band wrote and recorded in quarantine for the Bill & Ted Face The Music movie and soundtrack.

Rita Ora’s new EP “Bang” to drop this Friday along with mini-movie

Rita Ora’s new EP ‘BANG” is set to drop this Friday, February 12th. The four-song collaboration with Ima is led by the single ‘Big’ featuring David Guetta and Gunna. 

“BANG” is described as a “mix of modern Pop, 80s, and 90s club culture and floor-filling house,” and will be accompanied with mini-movie. Ora revealed the trailer, describing it as her “own mini-film.” You can see RIta’s Twitter post with the movie trailer here.

Four skiers killed, four injured in avalanche in Salt Lake City, Utah area

Four skiers died and four others were injured after an avalanche in the Salt Lake County. The skiers, ranging in age from 23 to 48, were reported to be at 9,800 feet elevation near Wilson Glade in Millcreek Canyon around 11 a.m. Saturday.

According to the Utah Avalanche Center, the avalanche covered 250 feet of ground and the hurtled snow was 2.5 feet deep. All eight of the skiers were wearing beacons at the time of the avalanche, and one of the survivors experienced hypothermia and others were doing well, according to authorities. Conditions of the other survivors were not disclosed, but officials say they were able to locate and dig out the other four skiers, who had already died.

The Utah Avalanche Center posted on Twitter, “we are overwhelmed with sadness to report” the deaths of the skiers. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox also posted on Twitter: “This is a terrible tragedy and our prayers go out to the victims and families involved. We are grateful to the first responders and others who engaged in this rescue and recovery effort. With avalanche danger high right now, please exercise extreme caution.”

House Democrats to introduce $3,000 per child benefit as part of Biden relief package

House Democrats plan to unveil legislation Monday to provide $3,000 per child to tens of millions of families as part of President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package.

Under the proposal, the Internal Revenue Service would provide $3,600 over the course of the year per person younger than 6 years old and $3,000 per year for children aged 6-17, with payments sent monthly beginning in July. It also includes a provision decreasing the payments for couples who earn more than $75,000 per year and couples earning more than $150,000 per year.

The proposal comes after the Senate approved a budget resolution and the House passed a blueprint instructing committees to begin drafting its own relief legislation, the first step which allows House Democrats to bypass needing at least 10 Republicans to vote to advance the legislation.
