Hosted by Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton, the show was telecast from the Grand Ole Opry House, Ryman Auditorium, The Bluebird Cafe — three of Nashville’s historic music venues.

Bryan was named Entertainer of the Year, beating out Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, Luke Combs and Rhett for the night’s highest honor. Other award winners included Carly Pearce and Lee Brice who won Single of the Year and Music Event of the Year for their song “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” which they also performed during the show. Group of the Year went to Old Dominion, and Kane Brown won Video of the Year for “Worldwide Beautiful.” Gabby Barrett and Jimmie Allen won New Female Artist of the Year and New Male Artist of the year.

Suspect arrested in shooting in Wisconsin that killed 3, injured 3 others

Authorities have arrested a suspect in the early Sunday morning shooting at a tavern in Wisconsin which left three dead and at least three others injured.  The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department said Sunday afternoon that the suspect is expected to be charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide, and additional charges are possible. There is no threat to the community at this time, the sheriff’s department said.

The three injured men have been hospitalized, and there is at least one possible additional shooting victim, authorities said. Investigators have asked local hospitals to notify them of any additional gunshot victims. The suspected shooter was a patron who “wasn’t cooperating with the management” at the tavern, Kenosha County Sheriff David Beth said at a news conference. The man left the bar and returned a short time later, about 12:45 a.m., and began shooting, he said. The suspect “knew who the victims were” and targeted them, Beth said.  Beth said the bar was “very busy” at the time of the shooting but did not know how many people were there.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with information about the shooting and the suspects to call them at 262-605-5100 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 262-656-7333.

NY Yankees first baseman Jay Bruce retires after 14 seasons

NY Yankees first baseman Jay Bruce announced his retirement after Sunday’s game against the Rays. The three-time All-Star has a .244 average with 319 homers and 951 RBIs in a career that has spanned 14 seasons, starting with the Reds in 2008.

Bruce wrote in a statement: “After 14 incredible seasons, I’ve decided to make the very difficult decision to retire from baseball. All I ever wanted to be ’when I grew up’ was a baseball player, and to say that I got to live out my dream would be the understatement of a lifetime. This sport gave me more than I could’ve ever asked for…. Every stop i made throughout these 14 seasons were special, and my family and I are so appreciative of all the help and hospitality along the way. I’ve always loved baseball and will be a fan for life.”

Bruce made the Opening Day roster after first baseman Luke Voit injured his knee. The 34-year-old was 4-for-34 in 10 games with three RBIs for the Yankees this season.
