If you dive back into their back catalog, that early shit, there was a little bit more dynamic, then they settled into the groove. That’s the thing. And it’s because of Phil Rudd. It’s AC/DC, but that guy holds the key.”

3 dead, 27 injured after boat capsizes in San Diego

Three people are dead and 27 more were injured after a boat believed to be a “smuggling vessel” overturned off the coast of San Diego on Sunday. Rick Romero, San Diego Fire Rescue lifeguard lieutenant, said during a press conference that the agency received a call around 10 a.m. from a commercial assistance vessel reporting a vessel offshore near the surf line that appeared to be in trouble.

A total of about 30 people were on the boat at the time of the incident, exceeding its capacity, and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agent Jeff Stephenson said there was “every indication” the boat was being used to smuggle migrants into the United States illegally. Romero said that injuries ranged from hypothermia to damage related to the boat breaking apart.

Republicans Susan Wright and Jake Ellzey advance to runoff for House seat in special Texas election

Republicans Susan Wright and state Rep. Jake Ellzey will advance to a runoff in the special election to fill a North Texas congressional seat.

Wright, the widow of Rep. Ron Wright and a longtime activist in local GOP politics, emerged from the 23-person field as one of the top two candidates to represent the 6th Congressional District, winning more than 19 percent of the vote. She was first to advance to the runoff. Ellzey advanced after the third-place candidate, Jana Lynne Sanchez, conceded Sunday morning. A runoff will take place because none of the candidates met the 50 percent threshold required to win outright.

A Republican has represented the district, a suburban swath of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, for more than 30 years. The special election came about because of Ron Wright’s death after he contracted Covid-19. Trump endorsed his widow just days before the election, and after she advanced to the runoff, Trump said in a statement Sunday: “Congratulations to Susan Wright on her great surge yesterday which made her NUMBER ONE and assures her participation in the TX-06 runoff against another Republican.”

Oakland A’s pitcher Jesus Luzardo breaks pinkie while playing video game

Oakland Athletics left-hander Jesus Luzardo will be out indefinitely after breaking the pinkie on his throwing hand while playing a video game before his scheduled start Saturday.

Luzardo underwent an X-ray, which revealed a hairline fracture in his left hand. He was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday. A’s manager Bob Melvin told reporters he didn’t know how long Luzardo would be out or whether he would need a cast or splint on the finger. “Before [Saturday’s] game, he was playing a video game and accidentally bumped his hand on the desk as he was playing the game,” Melvin said. “He came in, was a little bit sore, training staff checked him out. We threw him in the cage before he went out there, watched him warm up. He was comfortable pitching, the training staff was comfortable with him pitching. After the game, we got an X-ray and there was a hairline in the pinkie finger.  It just depends on how it heals and how it responds. As you would expect, it was a little bit worse today, a little bit puffier today, but really have no idea on a timetable yet.”

The 23-year-old Luzardo has a 1-3 record and 5.79 ERA over six starts this season.
