Philadelphia 76ers’ Joel Embiid doubtful for Game 5 against Wizards due to knee injury

The Philadelphia 76ers announced on Tuesday that Joel Embiid is doubtful for Wednesday’s Game 5 against the Wizards. Embiid took a spill after going up for a layup early in Game 4 on Monday and did not return to the game due to right knee soreness. He had an MRI on the knee and will undergo further evaluation.

Embiid logged eight points and six rebounds in 11 minutes on the court Monday, but after leaving the game Washington was able to take the win 122-114.

Game 5 will take place at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Michael Ray reveals upcoming summer “Just The Way I Am” tour

Michael Ray has announced his forthcoming summer tour. The “Just the Way I Am Tour” will kick off June 13 with a show at Caroline Music Fest in support of Luke Combs, continuing through Fall 2021 and including other  stops supporting Sam Hunt, Chris Young, Ashley McBryde, and more.

Ray said in a statement: “I can’t wait to be back out on the road and be with all of you again. There’s nothing better than being with one another and singing the songs that have brought us together over the years, and I’m so excited to share some new songs with you that have come to mean so much to me. Let’s make some memories.”

Brett Young announces 2021 ‘The Weekends Tour’

Brett Young has announced a 33-date tour titled “The Weekends Tour” set to kick off September 11, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. Openers include Maddie & Tae and Filmore, along with Ryan Hurd and Matt Ferranti on select dates.

Young said in a press statement: “Announcing a headlining tour and preparing to release new music both in the same week truly feels like a dream and something I won’t ever take for granted. It’s emotional thinking about reuniting not only with my band and crew after so much time apart, but with the fans! I can’t wait to make up for lost time and finally get to perform these new ones we’ve been working on.”

Brett’s new album, Weekends Look a Little Different These Days, serves as the followup to Ticket to L.A., which released back in 2018.  Weekends Look a Little Different These Days is due out Friday, June 4.   For a full list of tour dates, click – here.

Paramount+ releases the official trailer to “iCarly” reboot

 

On Tuesday, Paramount+ released the official trailer to its iCarly reboot. The trailer shows original stars Miranda Cosgrove, Jerry Trainor and Nathan Kress reuniting to create new online content, with Laci Mosley and Jaidyn Triplett also joining the cast.

iCarly ran for five seasons from 2007 – 2012 on Nickelodeon, and featured Cosgrove as Carly, a teenage girl who hosts her own web series.  However in 2021, Carly returns to a world where social media influencers are more prolific than web series creators. The trailer clips show Carly discussing Instagram filters and curating her social media appearance.

The new series will premiere on June 17th with three new episodes. Additional new episodes will premiere weekly on Thursdays.

Taylor Swift cast in David O. Russell’s upcoming period film

Taylor Swift is the latest star to join the cast of David O. Russell’s upcoming movie. Little is known about the secretive project, but more and more A-listers have been added to the cast of Russell’s period film.

31-year-old Swift is just the most recent big-name addition to the film, joining Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, Rami Malek, John David Washington, Zoe Saldana, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Robert De Niro, Michael Shannon, Timothy Olyphant, Andrea Riseborough, Matthias Schoenaerts and Alessandro Nivola.

Russell’s last film was the 2015 biographical drama “Joy,” starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro.

Swift last appeared on screen in the 2019 live-action adaptation of the stage musical “Cats” as Bombalurina, a feline femme fatale. She also starred in two 2020 documentaries, Netflix’s take on her life, “Miss Americana,” and “Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions,” which she both directed and produced.

Lance Bass and husband Michael Turchin expecting boy/girl twins

NSYNC alum Lance Bass and husband, artist Michael Turchin, announced they are expecting twins this fall. The couple, who were married in 2014, shared that their boy/girl twins are due late October 2021.

Bass, 42, told People magazine that the couple’s four-year journey to parenthood was difficult, saying: “When we went into IVF and surrogacy, we had no idea what it was all about. Pretty much everyone we’ve known had bad luck at the beginning. The first time they tried it, it just did not work.” Turchin, 34, added that the pair initially went through nine different egg donors, all of whom didn’t work out for various reasons.

The couple knew they’ve wanted twins early in the relationship, meaning each child would share DNA with one parent.  Said Michael: “When we did the egg retrieval, he fertilized half, I fertilized half. And luckily, they all turned out great.”  Lance added, “We took the two healthiest embryos, and put them in, and it perfectly fit with our plans.”

Foo Fighters announce new dates for U.S. anniversary tour

Foo Fighters have announced a 2021 North American tour to celebrate the band’s 26th anniversary.  The band have confirmed that they will be performing a set of their own shows from July-August this year, in addition to festival appearances at Lollapalooza, BottleRock and Bonnaroo.  Punk rockers Radkey will serve as support on all dates.

The anniversary tour is the first run of live shows following Foo Fighter’s release of their latest album Medicine At Midnight back in February.  North American tour dates will go on sale June 4, local time.  Click here for ticket info: tickets.

Guns N’ Roses announce Summer 2021 tour dates

Guns N’ Roses have announced their North American summer tour will take place this summer. The rescheduled dates include 14 additional shows taking place in the U.S. Wolfgang Van Halen’s Mammoth WVN has been confirmed as support for the tour.

The tour will kick off on July 31 at the Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA, and wrap up in Hollywood, FL at the Hard Rock Live Arena on October 2-3, with 25 dates in total. Tickets for all new dates will go on sale at 12pm local time on June 4 at Guns N’ Roses’ official site. Tickets for all rescheduled dates remain currently on sale.

Coachella announces dates for April 2022 return

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival will return next year for the first time since 2019. Organizers announced the festival will be held the weekends of April 15-17 and 22-24, 2022.

Earlier this year, Coachella 2021 was canceled by the public health officer in Riverside County, California, having been rescheduled to April 9-11 and 16-18, 2021. The cancelation was due to the resurgence of COVID-19 worldwide, and within Riverside County.  Last March 2020, Coachella was postponed from its original dates in April to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and by June 2020 it was cancelled for the first time in 20 years.

Coachella 2020 was slated to feature Frank Ocean, Rage Against the Machine, and Travis Scott as headliners, with a full lineup including Lana Del Rey, Lil Uzi Vert, Thom Yorke, Run the Jewels, Danny Elfman, FKA twigs, DaBaby, 21 Savage, Caribou, Lil Nas X, and more.
