Reba McEntire to release ‘Revived Remixed Revisited’ box set this October

Reba McEntire is set to release a new triple album boxed set titled ‘Revived Remixed Revisited’ on Oct. 8, featuring updates of many of her classic hits.

The latest project from McEntire has her teaming with producer Dave Cobb (known for his work with Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson and more) on the “Revisited” segment of the project. Selma Blair shares her life with multiple sclerosis in the trailer for her documentary “Introducing, Selma Blair”

Actress Selma Blair, best known for her work in films like “Cruel Intentions” and “Legally Blonde,” was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2018; and now she is sharing her battle against the disease in the new documentary “Introducing, Selma Blair.”

The documentary, directed by Rachel Fleit, explores Blair’s journey of personal acceptance and resilience as her condition progresses. Blair even says she believed she was “shooting the final days of (her) life” at one point during filming.  Blair said in the trailer (which can be viewed here):  “I was told to make plans for dying. Not because I have MS, because I’m fighting MS.”   When Blair first revealed her diagnosis in 2018, she said she had been experiencing symptoms for years, leading her to believe she might have had the disease for more than a decade. She wrote in an Instagram post at the time: “I have Multiple Sclerosis. I am in an exacerbation. I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken GPS. But we are doing it.”

“Introducing, Selma Blair” will debut in theaters on October 15. It will then be available to watch on the streaming service Discovery+ on October 21.

Live Nation to require proof of vaccine or negative COVID test at music events

As Delta variant cases surge across the country, concert promoter Live Nation is tightening its COVID restrictions. According to Rolling Stone, Live Nation will be requiring proof of vaccination or negative test results at live events beginning this fall. Live Nation previously announced it would allow artists to determine their own coronavirus protocols, but decided to update its policy after last month’s Lollapalooza, which required all attendees to provide a vaccine card or proof of a negative test result.

Live Nation president/CEO Michael Rapino said in a statement to Rolling Stone: “Vaccines are going to be your ticket back to shows …We will be following the model we developed for Lollapalooza and requiring this for artists, fans, and employees at Live Nation venues and festivals everywhere possible in the US.” The requirement will go into effect on Oct. 4, which is also the deadline for all Live Nation employees to be fully vaccinated if they wish to attend events or go into the company’s offices. Live Nation will incentivize its workers with paid days off for each vaccine appointment.

AEG announced a stricter mandate earlier this week, saying all concert-goers and staff members must provide proof of full vaccination by Oct. 1. Negative test results will not be accepted.

Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty sued by Petty’s attempted rape victim

Nicki Minaj and her husband Kenneth Petty have been named defendants in a lawsuit brought against them by Jennifer Hough, the woman whom Petty assaulted in 1994 when they were both 16 years old. The lawsuit alleges a pattern of harassment by Minaj and Petty, including reaching out to Hough directly, offering her large sums of money via proxies, and sending people to her house announced, which eventually led her to move out of her home in August 2020. Hough is also alleging sexual assault and battery by Petty related to the 1994 incident. She is also suing Minaj and Petty for emotional distress, harassment, and witness intimidation.

In 1995, Petty was convicted on one count of attempted rape in the first degree, assault in the second degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon, all stemming from the assault of Hough. In 2006, Petty pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge in an unrelated case. After serving seven years of a 10-year sentence, he was let out of prison on supervised release in 2013. In March 2020, Petty was charged with failing to register as a sex offender in California after moving from New York to the West Coast in 2019. Earlier this month, it was reported that he took a plea deal, pleading guilty to one count of failing to register as a sex offender.

DARK TRANQUILLITY Drummer & Bassist Quit The Band

After reflecting on their careers during COVID, Dark Tranquillity has announced that drummer Anders Jivarp and bassist Anders Iwers have both departed the band. Iwers has been playing bass for Dark Tranquillity since 2016. Jivarp is the band’s founding drummer.

Christian Jansson  (bassist) and Joakim Strandberg-Nilsson (drummer) have been brought in for the future gigs

“Times have truly changed.

“This last year and a half has been challenging to say the least, and we’ve all had time to think over our decisions and motivations in all aspects of life. When removed from what you take for granted, it becomes clear that you realize what is truly important in life.

“And this is different for everybody.

“Anders Jivarp and Anders Iwers have decided to move on to other things and not be a part of the band anymore.

“These are two of the most amazing, loyal and dedicated friends and musicians you could ever find and as sad as we are seeing them go, we know that if passion leads you elsewhere you should follow it.

“Anders Jivarp has of course been there from the very beginning, being instrumental in creating the sound that eventually became our own. His songs are some of our most beloved and with the exception of one insane evening in Istanbul 20 years ago he has played every single show since the band’s inception. We’re excited to hear what will come out of Anders’ future musical projects.

“Anders Iwers has been with us for the last six years but since we have known each other from the very early days of the band it felt like he had always been there. He played on our two latest records, not to mention being an integral part of our live shows.

“We love you guys so much and we wish you the absolute best in everything that you do.”
