Asking Alexandria share the single ‘Alone Again’ from upcoming new album “See What’s On The Inside”

Asking Alexandria have released the single, ‘Alone Again’, from their upcoming new album called ‘See What’s On The Inside,’ set for release on October 1.  You can take a listen to ‘Alone Again’ – here.

See What’s On The Inside is the band’s follow-up to 2020’s ‘Like A House On Fire’ and will be released via their newly signed deal with Better Noise Music.  Guitarist Ben Bruce said: “.. this album is the result of us reconnecting and falling back in love with why we started this band in the first place. No frills or cheap tricks, just the five of us playing our instruments as hard and as loud as we can!” He continued: “At some point in our lives, we all feel lost and confused as to who we are and who we want to be, and I think this song will really unite all of us in that sense. We are so excited to share, not only this new song with you all, but our new album. We went back to our roots as musicians and really wanted to reignite that passion and love for rock and metal music. Metallica, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Aerosmith, AC/DC … all the greats that we fell in love with as kids have greatly influenced this new album and we couldn’t be more excited!”

You can purchase “Alone Again” via your preferred music service at the link here.  The new album See What’s On The Inside can be pre-ordered –here.

Asking Alexandria are also hitting the road this fall with A Day to Remember on the “Re-Entry” tour. Dates and ticket info can be found at the band’s official website.

BTS cancel world tour due to resurgence in COVID-19 cases

BTS postponed their long-awaited “Map of the World Tour” in mid-2020 after just four shows due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, the K-pop band have officially cancelled the rest of their remaining 34 tour dates due to a resurgence of coronavirus.

Big Hit Music, the band’s label, announced the cancellation on the BTS social media platform Weverse: “Our company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS Map of the Soul Tour, knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly and long for the tour. Due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned.”

Big Hit Music suggested that performances at live gigs might resume, but it offered no timeline. And these may include more virtual concerts, saying: “We are working to prepare a viable schedule and performance format that can meet your expectations, and we will provide updated notices as soon as possible.”

Defense secretary orders emergency use of 18 US commercial aircrafts to transport Afghan evacuees

On Sunday, defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the emergency use of 18 U.S. commercial aircrafts to transport Afghan evacuees out of Kabul. The U.S. continues to evacuate Americans and Afghan people with special immigrant visas, a week since the Taliban entered Afghanistan’s capital city and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled. Seventeen thousand people have been taken out of Afghanistan in the past week; however, the scene at Hamid Karzai International Airport remains chaotic.

The Defense Department is acting under Stage I of the Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) and confirmed the commercial aircraft wouldn’t be flying in and out of Kabul.  Instead, officials say the planes will move evacuees “from bases in Germany, Qatar and Bahrain to ease overcrowding pressure and transport bottlenecks.”

Among the airlines who will provide commercial aircrafts are American Airlines, Atlas Air, Delta Air Lines and Omni Air, each of which will contribute three planes; Hawaiian Airlines, which will contribute two; and United Airlines, four.

Death Toll reaches 22 with dozens still missing in catastrophic Tennessee Flooding

The death toll has risen to 22 in catastrophic flooding in Middle Tennessee over the weekend. Twelve additional deaths were reported by the sheriff in Humphreys County on Sunday, adding to the 10 confirmed Saturday night. The number of missing is now estimated at 50, with the hardest-hit area being 40 miles west of Nashville.

Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said during a Sunday evening press conference: “It is a devastating picture of loss and heartbreak in one of our Tennessee communities.”  The state of Tennessee activated its Emergency Operations Center as searchers continued to look for survivors on Sunday. At least 100 homes and 25 businesses had been searched as of 10 a.m. Sunday, while multiple bridges and roadways remained close in the area. More than 10,000 customers were without power.

Between 15 and 17 inches of rain was reported in 24 hours in areas around Dickson, Houston, Humphreys and Hickman counties. The flooding from the torrential rainfall trapped residents in their homes, closed highways and prompted multiple water rescues, where people took to their roofs and attics to escape the floodwaters. Homes were swept away and communities destroyed. The Tennessee National Guard has also deployed soldiers and airmen to the area in response to the flooding. Three helicopter aquatic rescue teams from the state, as well as swift water rescue teams from Nashville, were also sent to assist.

Detroit Tigers’ Miguel Cabrera becomes 28th player to join 500-home run club

Miguel Cabrera has become the first Detroit Tiger to reach 500 home runs, making history with his milestone hit against the Blue Jays on Sunday. Cabrera has now become the 28th member of the ‘500-home run club.’ Cabrera, 38, is the first Venezuelan international to hit 500 home runs and the first player to reach the milestone since David Ortiz in 2015. He is also second among active players in home runs behind Dodgers first baseman Albert Pujols’s 677.

Cabrera is also nearing another milestone, the 3,000-hit landmark — he currently has 2,955 hits. Cabrera would become only the seventh player to achieve both 500 homers and 3,000 hits, and would also become the very first player to reach both milestones during the same season.

Cabrera, a two-time AL home run champion, is signed through the 2023 season following an eight-year, $240 million contract he signed in 2016. The 11-time All-Star joined the Tigers after the 2007 season following five seasons with the Marlins, and won the AL MVP award in 2012 and 2013, as well as four league batting titles and the AL Triple Crown in 2012.

Vrabel is in his fourth season as Titans head coach and has led the Titans to the playoffs in each of the last two seasons.
