His manager confirmed that Tyler died on Sunday, peacefully at his home, saying in a statement: “If you met him once you made a friend for life. [He] is survived by his wife, Jennifer Carno, the love of his life. Slash previews “The River is Rising” with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators

Slash teased his new single “The River Is Rising,” recorded with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, off their upcoming fourth album.  Slash says in the video clip teaser for the song: “This was the first time that we actually did all the guitars, bass and drums live at the same time, and kept all those tracks, and we also did the vocals live as well. So the record just sounds like the band playing the songs that we came in with, but it’s us playing in the moment. And that’s what we were going for.”

Slash also shared that the album – recorded with Alter Bridge frontman Kennedy, and Conspirators guitarist Frank Sidoris, bassist Todd Kerns, and drummer Brent Fitz — is more of a live record because of how the band recorded it in the studio.  Said Slash: “This is pretty much a live record, from my standpoint. You’re just trying to kinda document where you are at that point in life, and do it in an authentic way.”

The album is the fourth project from Slash w/Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, since their 2018 release Living the Dream.  Slash shared: ”I think the record itself is probably the best one we’ve done so far. We’re showing no signs of slowing down.”

Ed Sheeran cancels in-person appearances after testing positive for Covid-19

Ed Sheeran announced on Sunday that he has tested positive for Covid-19, and will be cancelling all immediate in-person appearances for his upcoming LP. However, Sheeran will still fulfill his commitments virtually. Ed’s new album is due out this Friday, October 29th.

Sheeran posted on social media: “Hey guys. Quick note to tell you that I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines. It means that I’m now unable to plough ahead with any in person commitments for now, so I’ll be doing as many of my planned interviews/performances I can from my house. Apologies to anyone I’ve let down. Be safe everyone.”

It’s unclear how long Sheeran will be self-isolating; he is currently scheduled to serve as musical guest on the November 6th episode of Saturday Night Live, which announced Sheeran’s appearance during the episode this past weekend. Sheeran made several live appearances over the past few weeks prior to his diagnosis, including performing with Coldplay at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire as well as appearing at the Earthshot Prize awards ceremony.

Cinematographer dead, director injured on film set after prop gun fired by actor Alec Baldwin misfires

Authorities confirmed on Thursday that a cinematographer working on the film “Rust” has died, and the director has been hospitalized, after an accident during filming involving actor Alec Baldwin misfiring a prop gun. The Western, starring Baldwin and Jensen Ackles of “Supernatural,” began filming this month at Bonanza Creek Movie Ranch, a film location in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that deputies with the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the film set around 2 p.m. local time after a 911 caller “reported a shooting on the set.” Two people were shot after a prop firearm was discharged during filming, authorities said. Baldwin fired the prop gun, striking the film’s director, Joel Souza, and director of photography, Halyna Hutchins, the sheriff’s office said in a follow-up statement Thursday night. Detectives are still determining “how and what type of projectile was discharged,” the sheriff’s office said earlier.

Hutchins, 42, was transported via helicopter to University of New Mexico Hospital, the state’s only Level 1 trauma center, “in critical condition,” according to sheriff’s deputies and the hospital. She later succumbed to her injuries, the sheriff’s office said. Souza, 48, was brought in an ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center and is receiving emergency care, authorities said.
