Defensive end Randy Gregory agrees to join Denver Broncos, changes course after Dallas Cowboys had already announce deal

Defensive end Randy Gregory will sign with the Denver Broncos, and not the Dallas Cowboys, despite the Cowboys announcing on Tuesday that Gregory had decided to re-sign with the franchise in free agency.  That agreement, apparently, fell through as the Cowboys deleted their post on Twitter.

Gregory and the Broncos agreed to a five-year, $70 million pact that includes $28 million guaranteed. Those reports came just hours after the Cowboys posted news of Gregory’s alleged re-signing. The deal with the Cowboys was for 5 years, $70 million with $28 million guaranteed.

The 29-year-old Gregory has earned 85 tackles and 16.5 sacks in five seasons in Dallas, including 6.0 sacks last season, tying a career-high. He entered last season as a starting defensive end, though he suffered a calf injury during practice before Week 10 and was placed on injured reserve for a month.
