The Chainsmokers share the video for their latest single “iPad”

The Chainsmokers have released the video for their new single, “iPad,” directed by Kid Studio. The clip finds band member Drew Taggart wandering through the streets of New York City as he ponders his emotions after ending an unhealthy relationship.

Taggart said in a statement:  “We wrote this song when I felt like I didn’t have anyone to talk to. It wasn’t that I didn’t have anyone that would listen, but I had reached a level of cognitive dissonance that I felt was unexplainable. I don’t keep a journal so writing this song and the others on this album (and past albums) is my opportunity to organize my thoughts.”

“iPad” follows the release of the band’s recent single, “High,” which both appear on the Chainsmokers’ as-yet-untitled fourth album.   Take a look at the video for iPadhere.

President Biden approves $800M in military aid after Ukraine President Zelensky appeals to Congress

President Joe Biden announced on Wednesday that another $800 million in military aid will be approved for Ukraine; this after President Volodymyr Zelensky made an appeal for assistance before a joint session of Congress.  Biden said the military support will include 800 anti-aircraft systems, 9,000 anti-armor systems, 7,000 small arms, drones and other equipment.  Biden said in an address from the White House: ‘This could be a long and difficult battle. But the American people will be steadfast in our support of the people of Ukraine in the face of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s immoral, unethical attacks on civilian populations. We are united in our abhorrence of Putin’s depraved onslaught. And we’re going to continue to have their backs as they fight for their freedom, their democracy, their very survival.”

Biden’s announcement came just hours after Zelensky urged lawmakers to do more to help Ukraine. Presenting a video that showed graphic footage on the ground in Ukraine, Zelensky said: “Russia has turned the Ukrainian sky into a source of death for thousands of people. To create a no-fly zone over Ukraine, to save people, is this too much to ask? Humanitarian, no-fly zone, something that Russia would not be able to terrorize our free cities. If this is too much to ask, we offer an alternative. You know what kind of defense systems we need, such as 300 and similar other systems. You know how much depends on the battlefield, on the ability to use aircraft. Powerful, strong aviation to protect our people.”

In his address, Zelensky directly asked Biden:“I wish you to be the leader of the world. Being the leader of the world means to be the leader of peace.”  His appeals came as negotiators resumed peace talks on Wednesday, where Zelensky said that discussions are coming along slowly and that they’re beginning to “sound more realistic.”

ESPN signs announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman for Monday Night Football

ESPN Network announced on Wednesday that they have signed announcers Joe Buck and Troy Aikman to multi-year agreements, bringing the veteran duo to Monday Night Football starting in September. The veteran duo previously worked for Fox, but announced in February that they were leaving the network.  Aikman and Buck will replace last year’s Monday Night Football broadcasters Steve Levy, Brian Griese and Louis Riddick.

ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro said in a news release: “When you have the opportunity to bring in the iconic, longest-running NFL broadcasting duo, you take it, especially at a time when we are on the cusp of a new era in our expanding relationship with the NFL. The NFL continues to ascend, and we now have more games than ever before, providing additional opportunities for Joe, Troy and our deep roster of commentators.” According to ESPN, Aikman and Buck also will contribute content for ESPN+.

Said Aikman: “The opportunity to be a voice on Monday Night Football, adding to its legacy and being a part of the future of the NFL on ESPN, has me motivated and reflective. As a kid in California, the voices of Frank Gifford, Howard Cosell, and my mom’s personal favorite, Don Meredith, echoed throughout our living room each week. Joe and I are humbled to be part of that same tradition that has existed for more than 50 years across generations of football fans. I am looking forward to the next several years with ESPN and all our new teammates.”

Buck added: “Everything about Monday Night Football, including the broadcast, set the standard for the modern NFL experience. My earliest memories of walking around football stadiums are tagging along with my dad as he called Monday Night Football on radio. To return to the stadium on Monday nights with Troy — who I have the utmost comfort with and confidence in — and begin a new chapter, for us and ESPN, has me excited about this season and our future.”

Aikman and Buck will make their Monday Night Football debut on Sept. 12, working together for their 21st season. They first teamed up in 2002, along with analyst Cris Collinsworth. Aikman and Buck starting working as duo in 2005, and to date have called more than 275 regular-season games and more than 40 playoff games, as well as serving as broadcasters for six Super Bowls.
