Take a listen to two songs from Rob Zombie’s ‘The Munsters’ soundtrack

Two tracks from Rob Zombie’s upcoming The Munsters movie have been released, called “It’s Zombo (The Zombo Theme)” and “The House of Zombo.”

The two tunes are already available on the It’s Zombo! 12″ single from Waxwork Records; the full soundtrack arrives in September. Zombie’s The Munsters comes to home video (digital, Blu-ray and DVD) on Sept. 27, and will then stream on Netflix.

Zombo is a character from the original The Munsters TV sitcom from the 1960s, which follows the fictional lives of the Frankenstein-like Herman Munster, his vampiric wife, Lily, her grandfather, their niece, Marilyn, and the couple’s werewolf son, Eddie. Zombie’s “Dragula” was named after a vehicle from the show.

Metallica release animated lyric video for “Master Of Puppets”

36 years after its release, Metallica have finally shared the music video for the title track to their 1986 Master of Puppets album. The animated lyric video was created by UK design agency ILOVEDUST, which helped in creating Ozzy Osbourne’s Patient Number 9 artwork and worked with the Foo Fighters for their Studio 666 movie.

Master of Puppets has received major attention lately, thanks to its inclusion in the Season 4 finale of the Netflix mega-hit series Stranger Things.  Metallica had previously released live performances of Master of Puppets, but this is the first official video released from their first three albums spanning 1983-1986. The group’s first-ever video was issued in 1988 for “One” which appears on …And Justice For All.

The signature song from the band jumped from 47-23 in its first appearance in the UK Top 40 more than three decades after its initial release. The song also climbed up the Billboard charts dated July 16, making its first appearance on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 at No. 40 and marking the bands’ first time on the chart since “The Day That Never Comes” wrapped its run in November 2008, after reaching No. 31 that September.

Shawn Mendes cancels remainder of 2022 tour amid mental health struggles

Shawn Mendes has canceled the remaining dates on his ‘Wonder’ world tour to prioritize his mental health, after postponing the show for three weeks earlier this month.

The 23-year-old singer wrote on social media“As you guys know, I had to postpone the past few weeks of shows since I wasn’t totally prepared for the toll that being back on the road would take on me. I started this tour excited to finally get back to playing live after a long break due to the pandemic, but the reality is I was not at all ready for how difficult touring would be after this time away. After speaking more with my team and working with an incredible group of health professionals, it has become more clear that I need to take the time I’ve never taken personally, to ground myself and come back stronger. “

Mendes kicked off the Wonder tour in June and was scheduled to perform across North America, Europe and the United Kingdom through August 2023.  Mendes said in his statement: “We were hopeful that I might be able to pick up with the rest of the dates after some much needed time off, but at this time I have to put my health first as my first priority. This doesn’t mean I won’t be making new music, and I can’t wait to see you on tour in the future.  I know you all have been waiting so long to see these shows, and it breaks my heart to tell you this but I promise I will be back as soon as I’ve taken the right time to heal. I love you all and thank you all so much for supporting me and sticking by me on this journey.”

At least 1 person is dead after historic St. Louis rainfall results in flash flooding and evacuations

At least one person is dead after historic rain fell on St. Louis, Missouri overnight Monday through Tuesday, leading to widespread flash flooding that left St. Louis motorists stranded and residents evacuating their homes. According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, the city had recorded 8.06 inches of rainfall by early Tuesday, surpassing the previous daily record of 6.85 inches on Aug. 20, 1915.

Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson confirmed there was one fatality after a person was pulled from a submerged vehicle. The person’s identity was withheld until family members could be notified, he said at a news conference Tuesday afternoon. About 70 people had to be rescued or assisted as rain drenched the city, Jenkerson said, adding,  “We’ve had a tremendous amount of cars that have been door-deep and also roof-deep in some of these low-lying areas. Now we’re seeing the weight of the water cause some issues with buildings. We’re having some partial roof collapse. Some of the vacant buildings are also suffering from the stress of this water.”

At least six people and six dogs were rescued by boat from flooded homes, the fire department said. Firefighters responded to about 18 homes because of substantial flooding. More than a dozen people chose to shelter in place, it tweeted. Numerous roads were also closed in metropolitan St. Louis, including parts of Interstate 70. Video showed cars stranded on the flooded interstate and firefighters rescuing drivers from their vehicles.

Gov. Mike Parson issued a state of emergency, allowing state agencies to work directly with local jurisdictions.  He said in a statement: “With record rainfall impacting the St. Louis region and the potential for additional rain and isolated thunderstorms, we want to ensure that our communities have every resource available to respond and protect Missourians. We urge Missourians to follow the direction of local authorities and emergency managers, never drive in floodwaters, and always use common sense to prevent injury.”

President Biden discusses $22 billion investment in virtual meeting with South Korea’s SK Group

Due to his ongoing recovery from his COVID-19 diagnosis, President Joe Biden met virtually on Tuesday with representatives of the South Korean conglomerate SK Group to introduce $22 billion of new investment in manufacturing. The White House said the new investment comes on top of $7 billion previously announced by the organization. The SK Group owns SK hynix, the world’s second-largest memory chipmaker, and SK On, the electric vehicle battery maker.

Biden appeared on a television monitor as U.S. officials and business representatives from South Korea gathered in the Roosevelt Room.  As the president continues to isolate following his COVID-19 diagnosis last week, he said: “I’m feeling great. I hope it comes across that way. … I hope I look as good as I usually do, which is not that good.

Chairman of SK Group, Chey Tae-Won commended South Korea’s ongoing relationship with the United States while discussing the $22 billion in new investment in the United States in manufacturing and tech, which he said represented more than $30 billion total. Said Chey:  “Tomorrow, we commemorate 69 years since the end of the Korean War. So the American and Korean relationship is deep and longstanding. Today, we are here to talk about the investment in the U.S.”  Biden replied:  “Today’s announcement is further proof America is back to working with our allies. We’re going to continue to invest in the education side of this, so you can have the best trained and best equipped workers.”

Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson retiring from NFL due to neck injury

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson is retiring from the NFL at the age of 27 due to a lingering neck injury.  Rapoport tweeted that Carson will not make an official retirement statement, on the off chance that his neck dramatically improves. However, Seattle plans to release him with a failed physical designation, which will allow him to recooperate several million dollars in injury protection benefits under the collective bargaining agreement.

Carson, who re-signed a two-year contract with Seattle in the spring of 2021, sustained a neck injury in Week 4 of the following regular season. He was placed on injured reserve shortly after and it was later revealed that he would need season-ending neck surgery. He finished his fifth NFL season with 232 yards and three touchdowns on 54 carries.

After suffering a broken ankle during his rookie campaign, Carson racked up over 1,100 yards on the ground in both 2018 and ’19, scoring 18 total touchdowns during that span.  A foot injury hampered Carson once again in 2020 as he saw his production drop off significantly in just 12 games played; however, he scored another nine touchdowns and posted a career-best yards per carry mark (4.8) that season. In 49 NFL games played, Carson racked up 3,502 rushing yards, 804 receiving yards and 31 total touchdowns across five seasons in Seattle.
