Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne moving back to England next year because of gun violence in the U.S.

Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne plan to return to the United Kingdom permanently in the coming months. In an interview with The Observer, the 73-year-old Ozzy said he had not traveled to his home country in “three or four years” due to his health struggles, but recently made a surprise appearance at the Commonwealth Games’ closing ceremony in Birmingham, England, on Aug. 8.

Ozzy and Sharon, 69, say they will resume living in the U.K. in February 2023 after residing in Los Angeles for more than two decades, in large part due to gun violence in the U.S.  Said Ozzy: “Everything’s f—ing ridiculous there. I’m fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s f—ing crazy.  And I don’t want to die in America. I don’t want to be buried in f—ing Forest Lawn” (noting the famous cemetery in Los Angeles). “I’m English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we’ve got to go and live in Timbuktu, I’ll go.  But, no, it’s just time for me to come home.”

The former Black Sabbath singer has experienced a number of health issues in recent years; he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2003, and underwent major surgery in June. Sharon told The Observer that the move back to England has nothing to do with her husband’s health: “I knew people would think that. It’s not. It’s just time. America has changed so drastically. It isn’t the United States of America at all. Nothing’s united about it. It’s a very weird place to live right now.”

The Osbournes also told The Observer that Ozzy will attempt to tour again after his next album, ‘Patient Number 9,’ drops on Sept. 9:  “I’ll give it the best shot I can for another tour. You have not seen the end of Ozzy Osbourne, I promise you. “If I have to go up there and die on the first song, I’ll still be back the next day.”

Type O Negative announces reissue of their 2007 album ‘Dead Again’

Type O Negative has officially announced the reissue of their 2007 album Dead Again. The 15th anniversary version of the album will arrive on November 25th, featuring the original album alongside a handful of bonus tracks.

Type O Negative’s Kenny Hickey says:  “The first casualty of this album was the record company – which promptly went under after its release. Soon after, Peter passed, and then even the rehearsal studio it was written and developed in was burnt to the ground by Hurricane Sandy. As the black cloud continued its relentless path over Type O, Dead Again appeared and disappeared from the streaming platforms for years. Now that the storm has passed we have some slight hope of establishing a small illusion of permanence with this final release of Dead Again. We are sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused you.”

Pre-orders for Dead Again are available here.

Taylor Swift announces new album ‘Midnights’ set for release in October

Taylor Swift is releasing her next album, “Midnights,” on October 21st.  The 32-year-old singer first announced the news at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards during her acceptance speech for the Video of the Year Award: “I thought it would be a fun moment to tell you that my new album comes out Oct. 21. I will tell you more at midnight.”

Swift then took to social media to reveal more details about the surprise project, which tells “the stories of 13 sleepless nights.”  Swift wrote: “We lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t – right this minute – about to make some fateful life-altering mistake. This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes 12 … we’ll meet ourselves.”  The post concluded: “Meet me at midnight.”

Swift’s last two albums of new music – “Folklore” and “Evermore” – came out in 2020. She also has been releasing rerecorded versions of her old albums amid her dispute with record executive Scooter Braun.

You can pre-order “Midnights” – here.

One child killed, 4 injured in multi-vehicle crash involving school bus on Arizona highway

Authorities say that one child was killed and four others were seriously injured on Sunday morning in a three-vehicle crash involving a school bus on I-40 in Arizona. Arizona Department of Public Safety Sgt. Jesus Gastelum said in a press release that the collision took place around 9:27 a.m. in Apache County, when the school bus was rear-ended by a commercial semi-truck going eastbound at mile marker 328.

DPS said that eastbound traffic was slowed at the time due to a previous collision that morning, of a single commercial vehicle rollover. Gastelum said: “Due to the impact, the school bus was pushed into the van.”  According to DPS, there were 19 people on the school bus at the time, with one child killed and “four other school bus occupants sustained serious injuries.” It was not immediately clear if the injured occupants were also children. There were no other serious injuries reported, and an investigation is ongoing, Gastelum added.

Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson in stable condition after being shot in robbery attempt

Washington Commanders rookie running back Brian Robinson is in stable condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds during a robbery attempt.  Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson Dustin Sternbeck confirmed that Robinson suffered two gunshot wounds to his lower extremities and was taken to a local hospital. The shooting happened in the 1000 block of H Street NE. Two suspects fled the scene and officers recovered a firearm nearby, according to Sternbeck.

The Commanders also spoke out on the incident in a statement on Sunday evening: “We have been made aware that Brian Robinson, Jr. was the victim of an attempted robbery or carjacking in Washington, D.C.  He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is currently being treated at the hospital, where Team officials are on-site with him. Rory McIlroy wins PGA Tour Championship and his third FedEx Cup

Rory McIlroy was the winner of the 2022 PGA Tour Championship on Sunday at the East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta. McIlroy finished 21-under par, one stroke better than World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, earning an $18 million first-place prize. With Sunday’s victory, McIlroy became the first player to win the FedEx Cup, the PGA Tour’s season-long playoff, three times.

McIlroy said: “What a week, what a day. I feel like Scottie deserves at least half of this today. I fell sort of bad that I pipped him to the post. He’s a hell of a competitor and an even better guy. It was an honor and a privilege to battle with him today. I’m sure there will be many more. I told him we’re 1-all in Georgia. He got the masters and I got this.”

On Saturday, Scheffler was in the lead with McIlroy when play was suspended due to lightning during the third round.  McIlroy finished the third round 7-under 63 on Sunday morning, making birdies on his final two holes.

McIlroy and Scheffler fought down the stretch but ultimately McIlroy sank a 7-foot par putt to remain 21 under, while Scheffler missed from 9 feet and failed to birdie the final hole, finishing 3-over 73.
