Morgan Wallen’s One Night At A Time World Tour is set to kick-off on March 15 with shows in New Zealand and Australia with HARDY. It feels like new songs are pouring out of me, and I love that feeling. We are going to run it back next year with the One Night At A Time World Tour. Bigger venues. New countries. Bigger memories. See y’all there.”

There is no official pre-sale in North American for the One Night At A Time World Tour, so fans should only purchase tickets through verified fans. For more information, visit www.morganwallen.com.

Bret Michaels announces ‘Parti-Gras 23 Tour’ with Night Ranger and Jefferson Starship

Bret Michaels will launch his ‘Parti-Gras 23 Tour’, making stops at a dozen amphitheaters across North America next summer with help from Night Ranger, Jefferson Starship and other special guests. Bret said the tour will kick off in Detroit in July.

Said Michaels: “If you poured it into a bowl, it’s the spectacular show of Kiss, the fun party of Jimmy Buffett and some Pitbull high energy, just good party party rave. And then a little Bret Michaels thrown in there for a little pepper on top of everything. It’s unique, never quite been done before. I said I want to throw that party starting in the parking lot, into the building, let fans have a chance to be on the side of the stage, they’re doing the ‘Dress Like Bret’ karaoke contest, it’s like a carnival of fun and awesomeness, right? And the music we’re playing in between, we’ve got DJs spinning, everything is meant to be a party from the time you get there till you end. It’s gotta be all killer, all hits, no filler.”

Michaels also shared there would appearances from artists including Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath and former Journey frontman Steve Augeri, and also noted that it will be the David Freiberg and Donny Baldwin lineup of Jefferson Starship included on the tour, not Mickey Thomas’ Starship. The Poison frontman also promised “special mystery guests” throughout the tour.

U.S. House Democrats elect Hakeem Jeffries to become first Black party leader

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York has been elected the next Democratic House leader, making history as the first black lawmaker to lead a political party’s caucus. The 52-year-old Jeffries was elected on Wednesday in a unanimous vote, as Democrats prepare to relinquish control of the House in January. Jeffries will take over for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who announced earlier this month she would not seek leadership next session. Pelosi has served as the House Democratic leader since 2003.

Jeffries was first elected to Congress in 2012; his top deputy will be Rep. Katherine Clark, D-Mass., 59, who served under Jeffries as vice chair of the Democratic Caucus and rose to assistant speaker in this Congress. The trio represents a generational shift for Democrats, who are currently led by a trio in their 80s.  Jeffries told reporters in the Capitol: “This is a moment of transition  We stand on the shoulders of giants, but are also looking forward to being able to do what’s necessary at this moment to advance the issues.”

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called Jeffries’ election a turning point in the history of the United States Congress: “It’s not surprising that House Democrats are turning to someone from Brooklyn to lead the way next year, because when you’re from Brooklyn, you learn quickly traits like persistence and serious mettle. It’s a crowded place and a diverse place. You learn how to work with all kinds of different people. You learn how to stand your ground. You learn to not take things personally.”

House of Representatives passes legislation to avoid railroad strike

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation to avoid a railroad strike; national railroad workers had vowed to strike on Dec. 9 if no agreement was reached. The legislation passed the House by a vote of 290-137, and still needs to be approved by the Senate.  If enacted the measure would require companies and railway employees to adhere to a tentative agreement that was brokered earlier this year by the Biden administration.

President Joe Biden issued a personal appeal for Congress earlier in the week, saying in an official White House press release: “I am calling on Congress to pass legislation immediately to adopt the Tentative Agreement between railroad workers and operators — without any modifications or delay — to avert a potentially crippling national rail shutdown.”

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders had expressed his intention to hold up the legislation unless a measure was added to guarantee seven days of paid sick leave to railroad employees, tweeting: “At a time of record profits in the rail industry, it’s unacceptable that rail workers have zero guaranteed paid sick days. It’s my intention to block consideration of the rail legislation until a roll call vote occurs on guaranteeing seven paid sick days to rail workers in America.” A separate piece of legislation, mandating paid sick leave for railroad workers, passed the House by 221-207.

The National Railway Act allows congress to intervene in labor disputes related to national railroads but the law has not been invoked since the 19

Pittsburgh Penguins’ Kris Letang out indefinitely after suffering second stroke

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Wednesday that Kris Letang will be out indefinitely after suffering a second stroke. General manager Ron Hextall said the defenseman reported symptoms on Monday to the training staff and “was immediately taken to the hospital for testing … The test results were shocking to hear, but we are grateful that Kris is doing well. We are thankful to the medical staff and the physicians at UPMC. He is a warrior on the ice, but first and foremost, he is a son, father, husband and friend. His health is our number one priority.”  The Penguins said the stroke is not considered to be “career threatening” and that Letang “is not experiencing any lasting effects of the stroke and will continue to undergo a series of tests over the next week.”

The 35-year-old Letang suffered his first stroke in 2014, missing more than two months as a result. According to the Penguins, it was discovered through testing that there was “a very small hole in the wall of his heart,” which he was born with, and closes on its own in most cases.  Said Letang: “I am fortunate to know my body well enough to recognize when something isn’t right. While it is difficult to navigate this issue publicly, I am hopeful it can raise awareness. It is important for me that my teammates, family and the fans know that I am okay. I am optimistic that I will be back on the ice soon.”

Over the last eight years since his first stroke, Letang competed in 543 regular-season matchups and made 69 playoff appearances. This season, he leads the team for playing time and has tallied one goal and 11 assists.

Rams’ Aaron Donald ruled out of Week 13 game vs Seahawks with ankle sprain

Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald will miss a game due to injury for the first time in his NFL career.  Donald was ruled out of this Sunday’s Week 13 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks because of a high ankle sprain.  Donald injured his ankle early on against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12 but finished the game for Los Angeles.

Rams head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday that the team will take it week by week with Donald’s availability, and his ankle injury will not require surgery. McVay said of Donald finishing the game after being injured:“That’s what makes Aaron, Aaron. He’s unbelievable. I mean, to be able to play through that. The toughness. Everything that he embodies is what you love about Aaron Donald.” In 11 games this season, Donald has five sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, 11 quarterback hits and a forced fumble.

Donald has only missed two games in his career during the 2017 season: one was because his holdout ended the day before the Rams’ opener, and the other because McVay rested several players in the last game of the regular season.

In addition to Donald, the Rams are expecting to play without quarterback Matthew Stafford on Sunday, who is dealing with a neck injury and is in the concussion protocol. McVay said Stafford would not practice on Wednesday and said it’s “safe to say” he would not play against Seattle. Los Angeles will also be without wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who has a high ankle sprain, and wide receiver Allen Robinson, who has a stress fracture in his foot.
