Paramore share their latest song “C’est Comme Ça”

Paramore have released their new song “C’est Comme Ça,” taken from their forthcoming album, “This Is Why” set to drop on February 10th. The title translates literally from French as “it’s like that” but is more akin to the English-language expression “that’s just how it is”.  Take a look at the lyric video for – “C’est Comme Ça” – here.

Said singer Hayley Williams: “I’m trying to get un-addicted to a survival narrative. The idea of imminent doom is less catastrophic to me than not knowing anything about the future or my part in it. The guys and I are all in much more stable places in our lives than ever before. And somehow that is harder for me to adjust to.”

The band is set to headline the kick-off of the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest in Glendale, AZ on Feb 9th and will join Taylor Swift on the opening nights of her Eras Tour there on March 17th and 18th. Prior to their tour kickoff, the band will be doing a special, intimate album release show for fans on February 6 at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Paramore will then embark on their own world tour in support of This is Why, kicking off in South America in March, followed by a UK run in April, and a North American run starting in May.

Over 50 shots fired outside Houston nightclub leaving one dead, four wounded

Officials confirmed that one person was killed and four were wounded early Sunday in a Houston-area shooting believed to involve an AK-47 assault rifle. The Harris County sheriff’s office said that multiple people appeared to get out of a vehicle and open fire toward patrons outside the Lounge 33 nightclub in Harris County about 2 a.m. local time. Three women and two men were wounded by gunfire. One of the men died, and the other four victims were taken to a local hospital.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said at a news conference: “It looks like over 50 shots were fired here, which is a very scary situation considering there’s a mobile food truck here and, again, the number of patrons that were outside. Two men and three women were wounded in the shooting. One of the men died, while the four surviving victims were hospitalized.”  Gonzalez added:  “It appears at least one AK-47 was utilized, so it’s pretty potent stuff that we’re seeing out here on the streets … If the information is correct that somebody exited from a vehicle and began opening fire, then that’s probably a good indicator that they were coming with purpose and maybe it was targeted at somebody. Maybe there was some type of beef before inside the club that later spilled out, but at this point we don’t know that.”

None of the victims have been publicly identified, and officials haven’t announced any arrests. Since many witnesses left the scene after the shooting, the sheriff is asking that any witnesses with pertinent information to come forward to assist in the investigation.

Asian student at Indiana University stabbed in alleged racially-motivated attack on bus

A 56-year-old woman was arrested after she allegedly confessed to repeatedly stabbing an Asian student at Indiana University in the head on a public bus in Bloomington, Indiana, in what police said appeared to be an unprovoked, racially-motivated attack. The attack unfolded aboard the bus around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, the Bloomington Police Department said in a statement. The knife attack was captured on the bus’ onboard surveillance camera. The victim, whose name was not released, told investigators she was attacked without warning when she stood up to exit the bus on Fourth Street in downtown Bloomington, several blocks from the Indiana University campus. Police officers called to the scene found the victim bleeding from her head and immediately called an ambulance, which took the victim to an area hospital for treatment where it was determined that the victim had multiple stab wounds to her head.

Authorities said that the suspect, Billy R. Davis of Bloomington, was taken into custody after a passenger who witnessed the assault followed her on foot.  According to a criminal complaint, the suspect allegedly confessed to stabbing the 18-year-old victim with a folding knife and told detectives she did so because it would mean “one less person to blow up our country.” Davis was initially booked at the Monroe County Jail and on a felony battery charge, which was later amended to attempted murder after she allegedly confessed to investigators.

James Wimbush, vice president of diversity, equity and multicultural affairs at Indiana University, said in a statement: “This week, Bloomington was sadly reminded that anti-Asian hate is real and can have painful impacts on individuals and our community. No one should face harassment or violence due to their background, ethnicity or heritage. Instead, the Bloomington and IU communities are stronger because of the vast diversity of identities and perspectives that make up our campus and community culture.”

Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton also said in a statement: “We stand with the Asian community and all who feel threatened by this event. Following the brutal attack of a member of our community, I want to state categorically that here in the city of Bloomington we deplore any form of racism and discrimination, especially hate based violence. This behavior is not acceptable and will be dealt with accordingly. Bloomington is a relatively safe place, but we are not immune to issues with which our entire nation is dealing. This senseless incident is a reminder that we should all look out for each other, be aware of our surroundings and seek to combat racism and prejudice in all its forms wherever and whenever we encounter it.”

Dierks Bentley announces 10th studio album “GRAVEL & GOLD”

Dierks Bentley announced his 10th studio album, Gravel & Gold, on February 24th.

The country superstar shared the news in a video explaining why it’s taken so long to release the follow-up to 2018’s The Mountain. Over a video montage of performances throughout his career, Bentley says: “It’s been a long road. A 20-year journey filled with highs and lows, twists and turns. My love for country music — that’s what’s always kept me going town to town, show to show, small clubs to packed arenas. I worked hard. I took chances, went for things. The journey isn’t where I’ve been, it’s what I carry with me, into my 10th album. I wrote. I recorded. It wasn’t good enough. I threw it out and started over — twice. I had to get it right. For the fans. For me. It had to be the best country music I’ve ever made. Everyone showed up. My heroes and my friends. We did it together. It’s the love, the lessons, the gravel and gold.”

Chris Young drops the tracks ‘Looking For You’ and ‘All Dogs Go To Heaven’ off upcoming LP

Chris Young has dropped two new tracks, “Looking For You” and “All Dogs Go To Heaven,” both from Young’s forthcoming album. Both “Looking For You” and “All Dogs Go To Heaven” can be found at ChrisYoungCountry.com.

Young said of “Looking For You”: “This actually just came from a place of, sometimes you’re looking for love and can’t find it. And then sometimes you’re like, ‘I give up,’ and it just smacks you in the face like a freight train out of nowhere. And I think a lot of people have been through that before where they just see somebody walk in, even if they weren’t looking for anyone, they just find someone and it’s like, ‘This is perfect.’ And so that was kind of the genesis of the idea of this song.”

Young’s song “All Dogs Go To Heaven” is inspired by his five-year-old German Shepherd, Porter, who was a gift to Young in 2017 from his sister, Dot. Young said of the track: “I met this dog when he was basically a baked potato size animal and he weighs 115 pounds. So I love this dog. He was a Christmas present from my little sister. He was a surprise. And he is now a 115-pound tank of a German Shepherd. I think just regardless of whether you have a big dog, small dog, whatever pet of any kind, you can kind of get the point of ‘All Dogs Go To Heaven,’ because they’re probably not going to outlive us …I think everybody doesn’t want to think about that. But that’s going to be something you’re going to have to deal with at some point. And it’s just the idea of, they’ll be waiting on you when you get up there.”

Take a look at the trailer for ‘Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret’

The first trailer for the film version of Judy Blume’s beloved novel “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” has been released by Lionsgate. The film is written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig, best known for her 2016 feature directorial debut “Edge of Seventeen.”

The film version of “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” closely follows the plot of the original Blume novel, which focuses on 11 year-old Margaret Simon, a sixth grader who moves with her parents from New York City to the suburb of Farbrook, N.J. Margaret is a child of an interfaith marriage and struggles with her relationship to religion, praying frequently to God. The book follows Margaret as she goes on a spiritual journey, while adjusting to her new surroundings and dealing with the onset of puberty. In the film, Abby Ryder Fortson stars as Margaret, with Rachel McAdams and Benny Safdie as her parents and Kathy Bates playing Margaret’s paternal grandmother Sylvia.

The novel “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” remains highly regarded for its frank portrayal of childhood. Author Blume refused to allow an adaptation of the novel until 2018, when she granted the rights to Fremon Craig and James L. Brooks, who produces the film via his banner Gracie Films.

“Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” premieres in theaters April 28. Watch the full trailer – here.
