Denver Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy to miss several weeks due to hamstring injury

According to a tweet from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is expected to miss several weeks after suffering a “moderate” hamstring injury on Thursday during practice.

Jeudy suffered the apparent hamstring injury, and had to be carted off the field, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.  ESPN’s Rapoport also reported that Jeudy’s status for Week 1 of the regular season is in question, although he added that there is “optimism” it won’t be a long-term issue. Per Troy Renck of Denver7, Broncos head coach Sean Payton later confirmed the injury and said Jeudy would undergo an MRI

Denver selected Jeudy with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft out of Alabama. Jeudy missed seven games due to injury in 2021, but is coming off his best season in the NFL, with career highs across the board including 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games.

The Broncos are already dealing with other player injuries at the wide receiver position — Tim Patrick was placed on injured reserve after he tore his Achilles, and the team waived K.J. Hamler with a non-football illness designation after he was diagnosed with a heart condition. In addition to Patrick and Hamler being out, running back Javonte Williams is coming off a torn ACL and LCL that he suffered last season.

Arizona Cardinals trade first-round pick Isaiah Simmons to NY Giants

The Arizona Cardinals announced they have traded 2020 first-round pick Isaiah Simmons to the New York Giants in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round pick.

The 25-year-old Simmons was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He has yet to miss a game in his NFL career, starting 37 times over three seasons and accumulating 258 total tackles, 7.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and four interceptions.

The move comes less than a week after Simmons played 25 snaps for Arizona in his second preseason game as safety. He made the switch to safety from linebacker in the offseason after playing throughout the Cardinals’ defense in his first three seasons under former coach Kliff Kingsbury and former defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.

Giants coach Brian Daboll told reporters Thursday at training camp that Simmons’ versatility was a factor in the trade: “That’s one of the reasons we made the trade. We thought there was some upside there. We will put him in and ask him to do quite a bit of things just to see what he takes to. He is a guy that’s athletic, explosive, has good size. We’ve seen him do multiple things.”

Randy Travis being honored with Texas tribute concert

A tribute concert honoring legendary artist Randy Travis, dubbed ‘A Texas Heroes & Friends Tribute to Randy Travis – 1 Night, 1 Place, 1 Time; will take place on November 15 at the Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas. Travis is also being honored with A Heroes & Friends Tribute to Randy Travis – 1 Night, 1 Place, 1 Time, taking place on October 24 in Huntsville, Alabama

Travis’ wife Mary said in a press event that the lineup for the newly-announced event will focus more on Texas-based artists, while the Alabama event will feature artists in Nashville.

Tony Conway, Travis’ manager, says: “Randy Travis’ imprint on country music is transcendent and artists who have followed in his footsteps continuously ask how they can pay tribute to and be around him. His light shines bright and he is still a force to be reckoned with as a champion for country music and our community. We have no doubt that Texans will show up in mass to celebrate his indelible career!”

Travis’ wife Mary says it is an honor to have his music celebrated: “Just to know that he made the music that he made and that it stands the test of time. And then to have tributes to you when you can’t sing the music, but somebody else will come in, step in for you, and some of the great artists that do step in, that say, ‘Hey, I want to be one of those that sings your music’ when they have a whole catalog of their own music. But it’s like, ‘I just want to give this time and this energy to singing your music because it made a difference in my life … And so to have a tribute, that just means you did something right. Somewhere along the line that made a difference. And we don’t want to forget that.”

Tickets for A Texas Heroes & Friends Tribute to Randy Travis – 1 Night, 1 Place, 1 Time event are available now via AXS.com and RandyTravis.com.

‘Frasier’ revival to premiere October 12 on Paramount+

Paramount+ released a teaser for the revival of the hit comedy series ‘Frasier’. The original ‘Frasier’ series was a spin-off from hit comedy Cheers, with Kelsey Grammer’s psychiatrist Frasier Crane moving to Seattle to be with his family and host a radio call-in program. In the revival series, Frasier moves back to Boston.

The teaser features a new animated rendition of the Frasier opening with the “Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs” theme song along with the text: “No more callers. All new hang ups. Oh, what fresh start is this?” Additionally, instead of the traditional closing, “Frasier has left the building,” the theme now sings, “Fraser has re-entered the building.”

The ‘Frasier’ revival is a sequel of sorts, featuring a 10-episode season. The revival “follows Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.” Jack Cutmore-Scott plays Frasier’s now adult son, Freddy, with Bebe Neuwirth confirmed to reprise her role as Frasier’s ex-wife, Lilith, as well as Peri Gilpin reprising her role as Frasier’s producer, Roz, in guest appearances. Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro and Anders Keith have also joined the cast. David Hyde Pierce, who played Frasier’s brother, Niles, will not be returning (on the reboot, Niles presumably still lives in Seattle); and actor John Mahoney, who played Frasier and Niles’ father, passed away in 2018.

The revival will premiere October 12 in the U.S. and Canada with a pair of episodes over Paramount+, with new episodes then dropping weekly on Thursdays thereafter. In addition, CBS is broadcasting the first two episodes back to back on October 17 . Check out the teaser for the revival series – here.

Drew Barrymore’s accused stalker detained after showing up at her Long Island home

A man accused of stalking actress Drew Barrymore at a conference was detained by police after apparently showing up at her home. The man, who’s been identified as Chad Michael Busto, was detained after showing up at Barrymore’s farmhouse in Long Island uninvited. Sources said that Busto was going door-to-door in Barrymore’s Southampton neighborhood, attempting to locate the actress.

Southampton Chief of Police James Kiernan confirmed to Variety that the fan was “temporarily detained” Wednesday afternoon in Southampton, Long Island, after “going door to door telling area residents that he was looking for Drew Barrymore’s residence,” The man, identified as Chad Busto, was not arrested, despite other reports. Lieutenant Todd Spencer told Variety that Busto has since been released, as a police investigation continues. Per Kiernan, he “does not appear to be in the area any longer.”

The recent news comes just days after Busto interrupted the 48-year-old Barrymore at an event she held with The Sex Lives of College Girls actress/singer Reneé Rapp at the 92nd Street Y in NYC on Monday. As seen clips that have since gone viral, Busto yells out to Barrymore during the event. While she excitedly responds when he starts calling her, the man then approaches the stage, saying:“I’m Chad Michael Busto. You know who I am. I need to see you at some point while I’m here in New York.” Per TMZ, Rapp is then seen leading Barrymore off stage, with security coming between the pair. Busto was subsequently escorted from the venue.
