Chicago Bears trade Justin Fields to Pittsburgh Steelers

The Chicago Bears announced they have traded quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sources tell ESPN’s Adam Schefter that the Steelers sent a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Bears that converts to a fourth-round selection if Fields plays 51% of snaps this season.  Fields completed his third season with Chicago in 2023; he ends his time with the Bears after 38 starts, where he completed 60.3% of his passes for 6,674 yards, 40 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

In a social media post, Fields thanked the Bears and Chicago in a statement: “Can’t say thank you enough to the city of Chicago for taking me in and embracing me. Thank you to the entire Bears organization and ownership for allowing me the opportunity to be part of such a historic franchise. But most of all thank you to my all my brothers that I played with. You all were the reason I attacked each day the way I did. I can’t thank you all enough for what y’all have meant to me over the last 3 years through the ups and downs. I wish each one of you nothing but success. Ready for this next chapter!”

Bears general manager Ryan Poles addressed the Fields trade, saying in part: “we have engaged in multiple trade conversations in recent weeks and believe trading Justin at this time to Pittsburgh is what is best for both Justin and the Bears. Today we spoke to Justin to inform him of the trade and the rationale behind it for us as a club. We want to thank him for his tireless dedication, leadership and all he poured into our franchise and community the last three years and wish him the best towards a long and successful NFL career.”

The Bears finished with a 7-10 record in 2023; Fields missed four games during the season after dislocating his right thumb. He threw for a career-best 2,562 yards, 16 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 2022.

Ohio State officially announces Jake Diebler as new head coach

Ohio State announced on Sunday that they have promoted interim basketball coach Jake Diebler to the full-time role of head coach. It is the first head coaching job for Diebler, 37, who previously served as the team’s associate head coach, and took over the interim head coaching role on Feb. 14 after Ohio State fired Chris Holtmann in the middle of Holtmann’s seventh season. Holtmann has since been hired by DePaul. Diebler has signed a five-year contract, and is the first Ohioan to be named the men’s basketball head coach since Randy Ayers was promoted from assistant to head coach in 1989.

Athletic director Ross Bjork said: “Jake Diebler possesses all of the characteristics we were seeking as we conducted a very comprehensive and thorough search for a new head coach. Those include coaching ability, passion, energy, program knowledge, character, integrity and ties to Ohio. As an Ohio native, the son of a longtime Ohio high school coach and with deep connections to Ohio State, Jake knows what it takes to lead this program on a championship course.”

Diebler is in his second stint with Ohio State; his first job at OSU was as the team’s video coordinator from 2013-16 and he was later hired as an assistant for the 2018-19 season after three years as an assistant at Vanderbilt. Said Diebler: “It’s a blessing and a privilege to serve this program and I’m excited for this opportunity. I’d like to thank Ross Bjork and President (Ted) Carter for believing in me and the vision that I have moving forward. Ohio State basketball is special and means so much to me and my family. I look forward to serving the entire Ohio State basketball family as best as I possibly can.”

Oprah Winfrey primetime special on weight loss drugs airing on ABC

Oprah Winfrey will host an ABC primetime special about weight loss drugs, airing on ABC. Oprah recorded the special, titled “An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution,” in front of a live studio audience, where she gathers medial experts to discuss weight loss drugs such as Ozempic, Mounjaro and Wegovy. The medical experts featured in the primetime special are Cleveland Clinic’s Dr. W. Scott Butsch, ABC News chief medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton, ABC News medical correspondent Dr. Darien Sutton and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Dr. Amanda Velazquez.

Oprah in a statement: “It is a very personal topic for me and for the hundreds of millions of people impacted around the globe who have for years struggled with weight and obesity. This special will bring together medical experts, leaders in the space and people in the day-to-day struggle to talk about health equity and obesity with the intention to ultimately release the shame, judgment and stigma surrounding weight.”

Craig Erwich, president of Disney Television Group, in a statement: “We are thrilled to work with Oprah and the voices she has assembled to open a dialogue that destigmatizes and educates viewers on the important and polarizing topic of weight loss. I can think of no one better to lead this meaningful conversation about such a critical issue that touches all of our lives.”

Oprah recently announced she was stepping down from the board of WeightWatchers after almost 10 years. She had served on the company’s board since 2015, when she acquired a 10% stake in WeightWatchers. The news cam after Winfrey told People magazine last December that she decided to start taking a weight-loss medication: “The fact that there’s a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for.”

“An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution” airs Monday, March 18 at 8pm ET on ABC and streams on Hulu the next day.

Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ renewed for two seasons; will conclude with Season 3

Netflix has renewed Avatar: The Last Airbender for Season 2 and Season 3, with the show to end after its third season. Episode counts and release dates for Seasons 2 and 3 will be announced at a later date. Netflix posted: “The Avatar will return!! Seasons 2 & 3 of AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER are coming!” Netflix also shared a video of Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Fire Lord Ozai, sharing news of the renewal with the cast.

The show’s eight-episode first season premiered on Feb. 22 and recorded 41.1M views in its first 11 days, topping its TV list for the last two weeks and being on track to enter its top ten most-watched list over its first three months. It debuted ranking at No. 1 in 76 countries.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is based on the animated Nickelodeon series of the same name, which had a three-season run from 2005 to 2008. Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender stars Gordon Cormier as Aang, a powerful young warrior who must master the four elements (air, water, earth and fire — in that order!) to defeat the merciless Fire Nation and restore balance to a world threatened by the terrifying Fire Nation. Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Ken Leung and Daniel Dae Kim also star.

The show’s three season run will mirror the structure of the animated series, which featured three books across three seasons to Aang’s story that premiered on Nickelodeon in 2005, and became a hit on Netflix during the early stages of the pandemic. Netflix plans to film Seasons 2 and 3 in close succession in order to mitigate the fact that child actors tend to grow up quickly.

Take a look at Ariana Grande’s video for ‘We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)’

Ariana Grande is sharing the official music video for “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love),” directed by Christian Breslauer. The song is taken from Grande’s seventh full-length album, Eternal Sunshine, available now.

The video finds Grande wearing a furry grey coat over a mini dress and knee-high boots and sporting some dramatic, tribal-like makeup around her left eye — sitting in the drab, wood-paneled lobby of the Brighter Days Inc. clinic awaiting an appointment with a doctor. While waiting, Grande grabs a white box filled with memories and enters a surgery arena, where she lays back on a chair as she begins to sing the ballad’s introspective lyrics.

Eternal Sunshine features the chart-topping single “Yes, And?”, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and marked Ariana Grande’s eighth No. 1 and 21st Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100.
