Dua Lipa released the music video for her latest single “Illusion,” a new song from her forthcoming album, Radical Optimism, dropping on May 3rd.  ‘Illusion’ is the third single Dua has released of Radical Optimism, following the singles “Houdini” and “Training Season.”

The 28-year-old singer-songwriter celebrated the song’s release on Instagram, writing: “ILLUSION OUT NOW !!!!! I hope you love this song and video as much as we really truly loved and had fun making this. This song started everything for this album sonically and it was the first song I wrote with “the band” (@carolineailin @dannylharle @tobiasjessojr @tameimpala )it has just made me even more excited for Radical Optimism ~ aaaaahhh it’s all bloody kicking off!!! 🌀what a team, thank you I love you !! 💙

The Tanu Muino-directed music video for “Illusion” video shows Lipa perform alongside water polo players and artistic swimmers at the Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc in Barcelona, Spain, as she sings about taking her “rose-colored glasses off” and seeing a love interest for what they are.  Dua said in a press release: “Illusion was the first song we worked on together and it really broke the ice for the record. It’s about the fun of playing someone at their own game because ultimately you won’t fall for an illusion.”

The 11-track Radical Optimism album is Dua’s first full-length project since 2020’s Future Nostalgia. To pre-order, head here.
