LINKIN PARK share video for ‘Over Each Other’

Linkin Park -featuring Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, Joe Hahn, along with Emily Armstrong and Colin Brittain—have shared the video for their new song “Over Each Other,” off their comeback album, From Zero. The album is the band’s first full-length release since 2017’s One More Light, which was their final album before the passing of lead vocalist Chester Bennington.

The band’s new singer, Emily Armstrong, shares: “This song is an extra special one for me, as it’s my first solo vocal in Linkin Park. I can’t believe I’m saying that!  As I spent more time with the band over the past year, I gradually started contributing more to the music-making process, so on this one, [co-vocalist and multi-instrumentalist] Mike [Shinoda] and I wrote the lyrics together,” she continues. “And then add in shooting this video with [turntablist] Joe [Hahn] in Korea – it’s all a dream come true.”

“Over Each Other” is the third From Zero cut to be released, following “The Emptiness Machine” and “Heavy Is the Crown.”  The accompanying video, which was directed by Hahn, is streaming on YouTube.  Check it out: HERE.

Man sentenced to life after being found guilty of murdering Georgia nursing student Laken Riley

A 26-year-old man was convicted on murder charges and sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday in the murder of Laken Riley, who was killed on Feb. 22 while she was out on a jog on the University of Georgia campus in Athens, Ga.

Jose Ibarra was found guilty of murder in Riley’s killing, in a decision handed down by Athens-Clarke County Superior Court Judge H. Patrick Haggard, with the verdict livestreamed on Court TV.  Ibarra was convicted on three counts of felony murder and counts of malice murder, kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault with intent to rape and “peeping Tom.” He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. A Venezuelan national, Ibarra entered the country illegally in 2022, immigration officials previously said (per ABC News.). Ibarra waived his right to a jury trial and did not testify in his own defense.

Prosecutors said Ibarra accosted Riley, a nursing student at Augusta University, while she was out for a run on the morning of Feb. 22. She was found dead in a forested area off the University of Georgia campus in Athens after her roommates called police when she did not return home.

Riley’s killing drew national attention to the immigration debate after officials announced that Ibarra is a Venezuelan citizen who entered the United States illegally in 2022. Donald Trump, who met with Riley’s parents before a campaign rally in March, said after the sentencing in a post on Truth Social: “JUSTICE FOR LAKEN RILEY! The Illegal who killed our beloved Laken Riley was just found GUILTY on all counts for his horrific crimes. Although the pain and heartbreak will last forever, hopefully this can help bring some peace and closure to her wonderful family who fought for Justice, and to ensure that other families don’t have to go through what they have. We love you, Laken, and our hearts will always be with you. It is time to secure our Border, and remove these criminals and thugs from our Country, so nothing like this can happen again!”

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said in a post on X that while “we are glad that justice has been delivered on behalf of Laken Riley, we continue to mourn her loss with her family and friends and know that she should still be with us today. This criminal should never have been allowed to enter our country, and he certainly should not have been allowed to stay after shamelessly breaking our laws.”

2 killed, widespread power outages after ‘bomb cyclone’ batters Northwest US

A major storm that swept across the northwestern U.S. has killed two people as it battered the region with strong winds and rain, and caused widespread power outages. The storm system that began on Tuesday is considered a “ bomb cyclone,” which occurs when a cyclone intensifies rapidly (per AP News.)

In Lynnwood, Washington, a woman died Tuesday night when a large tree fell on a homeless encampment; and another woman died Tuesday in Bellevue, Washington, about 20 miles from Lynwood, according to th6e Bellevue Fire Department. More than 100,000 electricity customers in Washington state were reported to be without power Wednesday afternoon on PowerOutage.us. California was also experiencing around 30,000 power outages, according to the tracking site.

The Weather Prediction Center issued excessive rainfall risks through Friday and hurricane-force wind warnings were in effect. Forecasters said flooding from the storm systems could be life-threatening for parts of the West Coast, and a bomb cyclone warning was also issued for British Columbia in Canada, with forecasters anticipating winds potentially as strong as 120 miles per hour. The advisory Wednesday from the Weather Prediction Center read: “a significant Pacific storm system and strong atmospheric river have already started pummeling the West Coast and Northwest this morning.”  The system was churning some 300 miles off the coast of Washington and pushing destructive winds over northern California, Oregon and Washington at the time of the advisory.

Per CBS News, flood and high wind watches were in effect in Northern California, with up to 8 inches of rain predicted for parts of the San Francisco Bay Area, North Coast and Sacramento Valley. A ground delay was issued Wednesday morning for San Francisco International Airport due to wind.

Additionally, up to 16 inches of rain of rain was forecast in southwestern Oregon through Friday, with dangerous flash flooding, rock slides and debris flows possible.

Cleveland to bid for WNBA expansion franchise backed by Cavaliers

A group led by Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert plans to submit a proposal for a WNBA expansion team. This would be the second WNBA franchise to play in Cleveland following the Rockers, who were an original league franchise that played from 1997-2003 before ceasing operations.

Cavaliers CEO Nic Barlage told CNBC’s Jessica Golden Wednesday morning:  “We have this unique convergence of infrastructure, culture and these foundational pieces that we think make Northeast Ohio, and specifically Cleveland, a great opportunity to expand from a WNBA perspective.”

Last month, Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell said via Cleveland.com: “I think Cleveland definitely deserves a WNBA team. It’s big time for Portland and San Francisco to add one. But Cleveland is a perfect sports city for it. The WNBA is at an all-time high and I love the competition. Been this way for a while and I think people are now starting to finally pay attention .. I would love to be part of that [franchise in Cleveland], for sure, if that ever happens. It’s been great basketball. It’s become more national. I feel like us as players, we’ve been there from the jump. I think it’s great that the world is finally starting to see what we all see.”

WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert wants to be at 16 teams by 2028; currently the league is at 12, and will be adding Golden State (2025), Toronto and Portland (2026) over the next two seasons. She said in October the league is not in a rush to award another expansion franchise: “I’d say there’s 10 to 12 cities that are very viable that we’re evaluating, and we have a process. I’d say I don’t have a deadline by which we have to name it because it’ll be out to ’27 or ’28, but I would think in the next couple months or so we’ll start — now as we get into the offseason, we’ll start taking a look at those that will go to the top of the list through our process.”

Cleveland will have competition in their quest to be the WNBA’s 16th team, with Denver, Kansas City, Miami, Milwaukee, St. Louis and Philadelphia all having shown interest.

Philadelphia Eagles DE Bryce Huff to miss time after undergoing wrist surgery

Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Bryce Huff will miss play time after undergoing left wrist surgery Thursday,

Head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed that the surgery will sideline Huff for a period of time, saying: “he’s really done a good job of battling through, but this will hopefully help him get some more function in that hand.”

Huff was initially diagnosed with a hand injury that significantly limited his playing time in their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and he had been wearing a cast on the wrist for the past couple weeks. Huff signed a three-year, $51 million contract last spring. ad appeared in all ten games, logging five tackles, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble, 11 quarterback hurries, one quarterback hit, and 14 quarterback pressures in 154 pass rush snaps for the Eagles.

Former first-round pick Nolan Smith has started four of the past five games at left edge in place of Huff and has 3.5 sacks on the year; while Josh Sweat (6 sacks) and Brandon Graham, 36, (2.5 sacks) will continue to lead the edge group. Sirianni said: “we really like this room. We love Bryce … but we feel good about the depth we have here and some of the young guys [on the team].”

Megan Moroney shares video for ‘Am I Okay?’

Megan Moroney shared the video for her hit single “Am I Okay?”  The video, co-directed by Moroney and Alexandra Gavillet and filmed in Nashville, marks the first visual from her widely acclaimed sophomore album of the same name.

Shares Moroney of the video: “The music video takes you through what love ‘always was’ – a lot of failed attempts at finding the ‘right one’ and reminds you that the ‘right one’ may have been there all long if you look real close. I loved creating the concept for the video because it portrays what ‘Am I Okay?’ feels like to me- finally meeting the one that makes all the wrong ones feel worth it. And maybe that’s happened or maybe it’s totally made up in my head, I guess we’ll never know!”

Earlier this month, Moroney released a deluxe edition of her album titled Am I Okay? (I’ll Be Fine), featuring three brand-new tracks including “Break It Right Back”.  Moroney will also embark on the AM I OKAY? TOUR next March 2025, taking the stage at iconic venues like Radio City Music Hall in New York City, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, and the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
