Free agent DH Joc Pederson agrees to 2-year, $37M deal with Texas Rangers

Sources tell The Athletic that free agent designated hitter Joc Pederson signed a two-year, $37 million deal with the Texas Rangers on Monday.

Pederson, 32, joined the Arizona Diamondbacks last offseason, signing a one-year, $9.5 million contract (which included a one-year, $14 million option, which Pederson declined). The DH hit a career-best .275 with 23 home runs and 64 RBIs over 132 appearances last season for the Diamondbacks.

Pederson made his debut in 2014 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and has also played for the Chicago Cubs, Atlanta Braves and San Francisco Giants.  In 2019 for the Dodgers, he hit a career-high 36 home runs, and has made the All-Star team twice — with the Dodgers in 2015 and the Giants in 2022. He also won World Series titles with Los Angeles in 2020 and Atlanta in 2021. In over his first 1,272 career appearances, the two-time All-Star and World Series champion hit .241 with 209 home runs and 549 RBIs

Jack Harlow shares video for ‘Hello Miss Johnson’

Jack Harlow has released “Hello Miss Johnson,” produced by his brother Clay Harlow, Don Cannon and Aksel Arvid. The video is from Yulya Shadrinsky and Marita Gurcciani, who together are known as ‘Shadrinsky’. The duo are known for their distinctive, lo-fi, and voyeuristic style in the fashion world for designers like Marc Jacobs and Jean Paul Gaultier.

The visual for ‘Hello Miss Johnson’ was shot on CCTV cameras, documenting the courtship between Jack and Miss Johnson’s daughter.  Harlow tries to impress his girl and her mom (similar to the way OutKast did on “Ms. Jackson”) to prove how much he loves his girl, all while you see his girl’s neighbors doing some wild things in the background.

‘Hello Miss Johnson’ is Harlow’s first official single since his hit song “Lovin On Me” last year, which spent several weeks at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100, following the success of previous smash hit “First Class.”
