76ers guard Jared McCain suffers UCL tear in right thumb during workout

Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right thumb during a workout on September 25, 2025. He and the team are consulting with specialists to determine the best course of action.

ESPN’s Tim Bontemps was first to report on X: “Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain suffered a UCL tear in his right thumb during a workout today, sources told ESPN. He and the team are working with specialists to decide how they will proceed, sources said. Philadelphia is set to hold media day tomorrow.”

This is the second significant injury for McCain in his young career. In December 2024, during his rookie season, he suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee, which required surgery and ended his season after 23 games. McCain was considered an early frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award, averaging 15.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in the 2024-25 season prior to his knee injury.

The average recovery time for a UCL tear in the thumb that requires surgery is roughly 9.6 weeks. This could mean a potential return for McCain around December if surgery is required. However, the team has indicated a desire to be cautious with his recovery.

See Charlie Hunnam in the trailer for ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’

Netflix is previewing Monster: The Ed Gein Story, starring Charlie Hunnam as the Wisconsin serial killer. The Ed Gein Story is the latest installment in the ‘Monster’ anthology series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan.

The series synopsis reads: “In the frozen fields of 1950s rural Wisconsin, a friendly, mild-mannered recluse named Eddie Gein (Hunnam) lived quietly on a decaying farm – hiding a house of horrors so gruesome it would redefine the American nightmare.”

Known as the Butcher of Plainfield or the Plainfield Ghoul (who also inspired films including Psycho and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) Gein confessed to murdering two women in the 1950s. He also allegedly made trophies out of bodies and skin of corpses he exhumed from graveyards, and is suspected of having been responsible for the deaths of others – including his brother Henry – however, authorities were unable to connect him definitively to any of the cases.

The cast also includes Laurie Metcalf as Gein’s mother, Augusta; Tom Hollander as Hitchcock, with Olivia Williams playing his wife Alma Reville; Addison Rae as Evelyn Hartley; Charlie Hall as Deputy Frank Worden, and Suzanna Son, in an unknown role. Olivia Williams, Lesley Manville, Joey Pollari, Tyler Jacob Moore, Mimi Kennedy, Will Brill, and Robin Weigert also star.

Hunnam told Netflix’s Tudum about the project: “I lost almost 30 pounds just to get a more malnourished, light frame. I spent a lot of time thinking about where his energy was, that he’s not particularly confident or, like, front-foot type of energy…”

The limited series premieres October 3 on Netflix; see the trailer: HERE.

Zac Brown Band shares video for “Let It Run” featuring Snoop Dogg

Zac Brown Band has dropped the video for their latest single, “Let It Run,” featuring Snoop Dogg.

The visual was filmed during Zac Brown Band’s surprise pop-up show at Desert 5 Spot in Los Angeles, which includes a high-energy performance from the band featuring Snoop Dogg.

Brown shared: “When we finished the first verse and that chorus hit, I just knew it needed a different kind of flavor, something real and iconic that would throw people a little sideways in the best way. Snoop was that missing piece .. He’s a legend, and he brings a whole different kind of soul and energy to anything he touches.”

Snoop said of the collab: “They reached out to me when they played me the record. The record was so, so right up my alley, so it was an easy go-to, and I’m a fan of Zac. So, you know, that’s what we do. We collaborate, we make things happen in music and we put people together that deserve each other. And that’s what the world is on right now as far as when it comes to music. There’s no such thing as just one genre. It’s about crossing hands and bringing everybody together through music.”

Suspect dead in shooting at Dallas ICE facility that killed 2, critically injured one

Two detainees are dead, and a third is in critical condition after a sniper opened fire on the Dallas Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office on Wednesday morning.  Dallas police said in a news conference that no ICE officers were hurt in the shooting, and the victims’ identities will not be released at this time.

The shooting occurred at about 7 a.m. CDT near Dallas Love Field airport, according to local Dallas affiliate WFAA-TV, while detainees were in the process of boarding or getting off a bus.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem posted on X that “there were multiple injuries and fatalities,” adding that the shooter was found dead with a self-inflicted gun wound.

The DHS said in a statement that the shooter has been identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, who was on a nearby rooftop and “fired indiscriminately at the ICE building, including at a van in the sallyport where the victims were shot.” The FBI adding that the shooting is being investigated “as an act of targeted violence.” The motive behind the shooting, or what the shooter was targeting, is not immediately clear.

A report from The New York Times stated that rounds found near the shooter were marked with messages that are “anti-ICE in nature,” according to Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas FBI Joe Rothrock.

In a social media post on X., Vice President JD Vance called the shooting at a Dallas ICE facility this morning an “obsessive attack on law enforcement” that “must stop. I’m praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem echoed Vance’s statement, posting on X that “while we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop. Please pray for the victims and their families.”
