Sting to replace Neil Young at Eddie Vedder’s Ohana Festival

Sting will replace the ailing members of Neil Young and Crazy Horse at Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder‘s Ohana Festival on Sept. 28th at Doheny Beach State Park in Dana Point, Ca.  A post on social media from event organizers read: “We’re psyched to announce that Sting will be headlining Ohana Fest on Saturday, Sept. 28th! His new power rock trio, STING 3.0, will be gracing Doheny with all the hits you know and love 🎸 Limited Tickets & Hotel Packages are available at ohanafest.com/tickets 🌴

Young and Crazy Horse announced in June that they would be postponing a series of shows due to undisclosed health issues within the band. At the time, they called the move ” a big unplanned break” but have yet to release an update about their status.

Stan was already announced as the replacement for Young and Crazy Horse for the 2024 Bourbon and Beyond festival in Louisville, Ky.  The former Police frontman will perform at both events with his new trio STING 3.0, which sees them perform a number of his old band’s songs, as well as Sting’s most celebrated songs from his vast body of solo work.  Sting 3.0 features Sting on vocals and bass, Dominic Miller on guitar and drummer Chris Maas (Mumford & Sons, Maggie Rogers).

Ohana Fest will feature a star-studded lineup of performers across three stages from an ocean setting at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, CA this September 27-29. Pearl Jam will headline both Friday and Sunday night in celebration of their new album, Dark Matter, with additional performances by Alanis Morissette, Garbage, Turnpike Troubadours, Maren Morris, Black Pumas, Idles, Jenny Lewis, The Breeders, Crowded House, and more. Limited tickets and VIP packages remain; head to ohanafest.com for information.
