LeAnn Rimes shares the video for ‘Spaceship’ filmed by husband Eddie Cibrian

LeAnn Rimes is sharing the music video for “Spaceship,” from her new album God’s Work, released earlier this month.  Rimes said in an Instagram post announcing the video: “tears. rage. loneliness…. when it came time to create a video for ‘spaceship’, i knew it needed to reflect those same feelings and be as intimate as the lyrics. so, i recruited the best in the business to direct this video for me, my husband, eddie. he has an incredible eye and knows me so well, which really allowed me to expose my most primal, emotional self. “

The video was spontaneously shot by LeAnn’s husband, Eddie Cibrian, while on an RV trip throughout California. Using his iPhone to film, Cibrian shot the video in 4 takes under 30 minutes.  Cibrian said in a statement: “We were on our way back from Mammoth when I said we should stop in Alabama Hills to scout a possible location. Once we got there and found a spot, the sun was setting and there was something magical at that exact moment. We knew we needed to capture something then. It was intimate, emotional, and powerful. We only did four takes, which were a mix of sunset and sunrise to capture both sets of light. It all came together beautifully.”

“Spaceship” is the opening track of Rimes’ 19th album, God’s Work.  The 12-track album features artists including Ziggy Marley, Mickey Guyton, Aloe Blacc, Ben Harper, Ledisi, Sheila E., Robert Randolph, Táta Vega, and more.  Rimes also recently announced Joy: The Holiday Tour which will kick-off December 2nd through December 18th.

Netflix shares teaser trailer for Season 4 of ‘You’

Netflix has shared a new teaser-trailer for Season 4 of the drama ‘You.’ In the new promo, Penn Badgley’s character Joe Goldberg is now residing more than 3,000 miles away from New York, under the alias of professor Jonathan Moore. Goldberg shares that he’s somehow become a teacher in the U.K., saying in his trademark inner monologue: “I’m not the lovable bookstore manager in New York, or the shop clerk in L.A. or the doting husband in the suburbs. No. Not any more.  Allow me to introduce myself. I’ve gone through a bit of refinement upon crossing the pond, and living in London has allowed me to bury the past, if you will.”

Season 3 concluded with Goldberg traveling to Paris to follow his new obsession, Marienne Bellamy (Tati Gabrielle). The psychological thriller has added some new faces for Season 4, including Tilly Keeper, Amy Leigh Hickman, and Ed Speleers. Badgley and Gabrielle are set to reprise their Season 3 roles, alongside previously announced new stars Charlotte Ritchie and Lukas Gage.

The first three seasons of “You” are streaming on Netflix. Part 1 of Season 4 is set to premiere Feb. 10th, and Part 2 drops on March 10th.  You can take a look at the trailer for Season 4 – here.

Katie Couric announces breast cancer diagnosis

Former Today Show anchor Katie Couric has gone public with her breast cancer diagnosis.  The 65-year-old Couric posted on social media Wednesday, sharing that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in June: “Every two minutes, a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States. On June 21st, I became one of them. As we approach #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, I wanted to share my personal story with you all and encourage you to get screened and understand that you may fall into a category of women who needs more than a mammogram. Head to the link in my bio or katiecouric.com to read my essay.”

In an essay on her website, Couric detailed that she had a mammogram June 20 after missing the routine checkup in 2021. Her doctor took a biopsy and informed Couric the next day that the test showed cancer. Said Couric:  “I felt sick and the room started to spin. I was in the middle of an open office, so I walked to a corner and spoke quietly, my mouth unable to keep up with the questions swirling in my head.”  Couric’s first husband, Jay Monahan, died from colon cancer at age 42 in 1998  Her sister, Emily Couric, died from pancreatic cancer at age 54 in 2001, and her mother and father both have a history with cancer.

Couric had surgery to remove an olive-sized tumor in July and began radiation treatments Sept. 7; she just completed her final round of radiation this week. She will also take an aromatase inhibitor for five years. Couric ended her post urging others to take care of their health: “Please get your annual mammogram. I was six months late this time. I shudder to think what might have happened if I had put if off longer. But just as importantly, please find out if you need additional screening.”

Grammy Award-Winning rapper Coolio dies at age 59

Coolio’s longtime manager, Jarez Posey, has confirmed to TMZ and Rolling Stone that the rapper has died at age 59. The Grammy Award winner (born Artis Leon Ivey Jr.) was visiting a friend on Wednesday, September 28, when he suddenly passed away.

He also made memorable appearances on television shows including Sabrina the Teenage Witch, The Nanny, Charmed and Teachers.

Coolio was married to Josefa Salinas from 1996 to 2000. They shared four kids, daughters Artisha, Brandi, Jackie and son Artis, who co-starred with him on the 2008 reality series Coolio’s Rules.

Paramore shares the video for the title track off their upcoming album “This Is Why”

Paramore have released their new song “This Is Why,” the title track from their new album due out February 10th. “This Is Why” was recorded in Los Angeles with Carlos de la Garza, who worked with Paramore on their self-titled album, and 2017’s After Laughter.

Of the new song, Paramore’s Hayley Williams said in a statement: “’This Is Why’ was the very last song we wrote for the album. To be honest, I was so tired of writing lyrics but [guitarist] Taylor [York] convinced [drummer] Zac [Farro] and I both that we should work on this last idea. What came out of it was the title track for the whole album. It summarizes the plethora of ridiculous emotions, the rollercoaster of being alive in 2022, having survived even just the last three or four years. You’d think after a global pandemic of fucking biblical proportions and the impending doom of a dying planet, that humans would have found it deep within themselves to be kinder or more empathetic or something.”

Check out the video for the new song, directed by Turnstile’s Brendan Yates and filmed in Malibu, at the link – here.

Post Malone is back on tour after being hospitalized due to injury from fall on stage

Post Malone took the stage in Cleveland on Tuesday after being hospitalized with a broken rib following a nasty fall at a previous show, and he also performed at his tour stop in Pittsburgh on Sept. 28.

The news comes after 27-year-old was forced to cancel his show in Boston on Sept. 24 after waking up to “cracking sounds” on the right side of his body. He wrote on Twitter at the time: “I’m having a very difficult time breathing, and there’s like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move. We’re in the hospital now, but with this pain, I can’t do the show tonight. I’m so f–king sorry.”

On Sept. 18, Post was performing in St. Louis when he took a tumble after stepping on an uncovered hole on stage. Video capturing the scary moment shows the singer slamming into the ground and writhing in pain while security guards rushed to make sure he was okay. After being helped off stage, he came back out saying he was sorry, and finished the concert. Doctors found a small fracture in his rib cage after he got a CAT scan and X-Rays done.

House Jan. 6 panel postpones hearing planned for Wednesday due to Hurricane Ian

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has postponed a hearing scheduled for Wednesday due to Hurricane Ian, which is forecast to hit Florida as a potential Category 4 storm. The hearing was supposed to be the committee’s ninth and final hearing, and reveal some of the information the committee said they learned this summer.

The committee said in a statement: “In light of Hurricane Ian bearing down on parts of Florida, we have decided to postpone tomorrow’s proceedings. We’re praying for the safety of all those in the storm’s path  The Select Committee’s investigation goes forward and we will soon announce a date for the postponed proceedings.”

Committee Chair Bennie Thompson said earlier this month that the committee plans to put together an interim report in mid-October, and will finalize the report before the end of the year, which would take them past the November midterm elections. The committee’s two Republicans, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, are both leaving Congress in January.
