Randy Travis & Drew Parker release new edition of “There’s A New Kid In Town”

Randy Travis has just released the “From The Vault” edition of his 30-year-old Christmas single “There’s A New Kid In Town.” The new version of the song features the country icon alongside rising country performer Drew Parker.

Said Parker of the collab; “I just remember getting to spend quality time with Randy and his family out on his ranch in Texas. Driving around the property and getting to take in all of God’s creation with one of my heroes. It was a very special day and one I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”  Parker added, “I hope [country music fans] can see that I plan on carrying on the kind of country music that Randy started years ago. The kind of music that I want to make [is] country music about fun, faith and family.”

The video for the song resonated with Parker, as Christmas is his favorite holiday and Randy Travis is a personal inspiration. He said: “Getting to feel those Christmas traditions and emotions while watching a video of me getting to spend time with Randy Travis is incredible. There’s a scene in this video of me and Randy sitting on a couch in his awards room at his house. We shot that scene one time and when we got done I told the director that whatever had just happened in that room couldn’t be replicated.”

Keith Urban to kick-off the North America leg of ‘The Speed of Now’ tour in June 2022

Keith Urban announced on social media Wednesday the 2022 North American dates for his The Speed of Now world tour.

The 54-year-old Urban will kick-off the North American leg on June 17, 2022, in Tampa, Fla. before wrapping up Nov. 5 in St. Paul, Minn. Ingrid Andress will join Urban as his opening act. Urban will perform his hits and new songs from his album The Speed of Now Part 1, released in September.

Urban shared with People magazine that he’s looking forward to “re-igniting that person-to-person connection I feel with everyone that comes out to see our shows. It’s pure magic when you look out and see everyone just letting loose. I’ve really missed that! After two years we’re finally gonna get the chance to play some of the new songs we haven’t done live before. We’ll throw in a bunch of the songs that everyone comes to hear, a couple of which we’ll rework a bit, and it’s really gonna be tough to get us off the stage.”

John Rich and The Oak Ridge Boys team up with Mike Rowe for the holiday song ‘Santa’s Gotta Dirty Job’

Dirty Jobs star (and occasional opera singer) Mike Rowe has recorded a holiday song with country music artists John Rich and The Oak Ridge Boys.

Rowe posted on social media:  “Couple weeks ago, under circumstances too weird to explain, John Rich and I decided to record a song for Christmas. America’s not having a great time right now, and we thought a song like this might help put a smile on our collective face. It’s called ‘Santa’s Gotta Dirty Job,’ and I’ll warn you right now — the chorus is an earworm that’s gonna be tough to shake. It’s a dirty little ditty that you can download for $1.29, and I hope you will, because 100 percent of the net proceeds are divided equally between mikeroweWORKS and Folds of Honor, two great charities that are making a difference in the lives of skilled tradespeople and families of veterans.”

John Rich tweeted: Howdy! @mikeroweworks and I have a new Christmas song #SantasGottaDirtyJob out today! Proceeds going to @FoldsofHonor and #TheMikeRoweWorks Foundation! WATCH https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49dCobL213M. Add to your playlist!

Turnpike Troubadours confirm on social media they are back together

After more than two years, Turnpike Troubadours are back together. After first dropping hints that their hiatus was coming to a close last week by posting a “Coming Soon” graphic on the band’s website. and wiping their Instagram clean, on Monday morning the band posted a photo of all six members reunited and together once again, snapped by renown music photographer David McClister.

The band includes drummer Gabriel Pearson, guitarist Ryan Engleman, steel guitar and accordion player Hank Early, fiddle player Kyle Nix, bassist RC Edwards, and frontman/singer/songwriter Evan Felker, whose battles with alcohol were the primary reason for dissolving of the band in 2019 after numerous cancelled shows. Felker has since gotten sober and has a young daughter after reuniting with his wife, Staci.
