Sza, Tyler The Creator, Blink-182 among 2024 Lollapalooza Chicago headliners

Organizers have announced the lineup for the 2024 Lollapalooza Chicago music festival, featuring headliners Sza, Tyler, The Creator, Blink-182, The Killers, Hozier, Stray Kids, Melanie Martinez, and Skrillex. Lollapalooza Chicago will take place Aug. 1-4 at Grant Park.

More than 170 acts will perform across eight stages at Chicago’s Grant Park from August 1-4. Additional performers include Deftones, Tate McRae, Reneé Rapp, Zedd, Dominic Fike, Pierce the Veil, Victoria Monét, Sexyy Red, Vince Staples, Kesha and Tyla, with other artists including Laufey with the Chicago Philharmonic, Conan Grey, Fisher, Zeds Dead, Labrinth, Faye Webster, Teddy Swims, Benson Boone, Jungle, Two Door Cinema Club, Ive, TV Girl and Galantis.

Stone Temple Pilots and Live to embark on 2024 North American co-headlining tour

Stone Temple Pilots and Live have announced their co-headlining summer 2024 “Jubilee” North American co-headlining tour, in celebration of the 30th anniversaries of both headliners’ classic 1994 albums: STP’s Purple, and Live’s Throwing Copper.

STP feature original members Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo, and Eric Kretz alongside singer Jeff Gutt. Meanwhile, after a band shakeup in 2022, singer Ed Kowalczyk remains the only original member of Live.

The ‘Jubilee’ tour kicks off August 16th in Concord, California, and runs through September 15th in Indianapolis. Along the way, they’ll play shows in Phoenix, Houston, Tampa, Raleigh, Toronto, Chicago, and Milwaukee. Soul Asylum will provide direct support for the duration of the run, with Our Lady Peace also on board for the first two shows.

General ticket sales start Friday March 22nd at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Eagles, Jon Bon Jovi, Paul McCartney, among the performers for Jimmy Buffett tribute

The Eagles, Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi and Pitbull are among the performers on the lineup for the Jimmy Buffett tribute concert that will take place next month at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Buffett, the famous singer-songwriter best known for “Margaritaville” and other hits, died at age 76 in September 2023 following a battle with skin cancer. Equal Strain on All Parts, a posthumous final album from Buffett, was released the same month as his death.

The “Keep the Party Going: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett” concert will take place April 11, with a  social media post via the Hollywood Bowl reading: “Keep The Party Going: A Tribute To Jimmy Buffett. One night only at the Hollywood Bowl on April 11, featuring performances by his many legendary friends and special guests. “

Also on the roster for the Buffett tribute show are:  Zac Brown, Jackson Browne, Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Scotty Emerick, Jack Johnson, Caroline Jones, Mac McAnally, Jake Owen, Jake Shimabukuro, the Coral Reefer Band, and “more special guests. Chesney, McAnally, Zac Brown Band and Alan Jackson also performed a tribute to Buffett at the CMA Awards in November 2023.

Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival is returning to The Park at Harlinsdale Farm in Franklin, Tennessee on Sept. 28-29 for its milestone 10th anniversary, and festival organizers have revealed the 2024 lineup, posting on social media: “Dave Matthews Band, Noah Kahan, Hozier, NEEDTOBREATHE, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Ave, COIN, Stephen Sanchez, Lukas Nelson..holy cats! 😇 🙀 Get your tix tomorrow 10am! 🎸🤘🎶🥳🎉 #PilgrimageFestival #MakeThePilgrimage #MusicFestival”

The 2024 Pilgrimage Music & Cultural Festival lineup will feature Hozier, Noah Kahan, Dave Matthews Band, and NEEDTOBREATHE as headliners. This year’s lineup also boasts acts in pop, bluegrass, and jazz, many of whom are local or native to the Nashville area.  Also on this year’s lineup are Lukas Nelson, COIN, Charlie Worsham, Stephen Sanchez, The Cadillac Three, Cassandra Lewis, Sierra Hull, Charles Peña, and Celisse.

Sting to embark on ‘Sting 3.0 Tour’ featuring new three-piece lineup

Sting has announced the Sting 3.0 Tour across North America this fall, heading up a new three-piece lineup that will include guitarist Dominic Miller and drummer Chris Maas. The Sting 3.0 Tour will follow the artist’s European trek running from May-August. The legendary rocker’s 2024 itinerary also includes a slew of stadium dates with fellow musical legend, Billy Joel.

The Sting 3.0 Tour kicks-off on Sept. 17 in Detroit and concludes on Nov. 13 in Los Angeles, with multi-night stints in several cities. Tickets are on sale now; for more information head to Sting’s website for the full list of tour dates.

‘Best Of Bruce Springsteen’ career retrospective set for April release

Sony Music announced that they will be releasing “Best Of Bruce Springsteen” in various formats on April 19th, including original songs spanning the 50-year recording career of “The Boss” from 1973’s Greeting From Asbury Park, NJ to 2020’s Letter To You.  Springsteen’s first compilation tape, ‘Greatest Hits’ was released back in 1995; and he’s also released retrospective collections such as  ‘The Essential Bruce Springsteen’ and ‘Chapter and Verse.’

Springsteen’s social media accounts posted: “Experience staples of Bruce’s live shows, best-selling breakouts, and recent releases together in one set for the first time. ‘Best Of Bruce Springsteen’ will be available on April 19! Listen to his career-spanning works digitally as an expanded 31-song collection or on physical formats as an 18-track set across 2 LPs or 1 CD. The LPs will also be available as an Amazon exclusive color variant. Link in bio to preorder.”

The physical formats of “Best Of Bruce Springsteen” will feature 18-tracks across 2 LPs or 1 CD, while the digital version will include 31-tracks. Amazon will also be releasing a special exclusive red vinyl version that can be pre-ordered here.

The cover of the “Best Of Bruce Springsteen” retrospective set features a photo of Springsteen taken by Eric Meola during the ‘Born to Run’ recording sessions. Physical editions of the compilation come with new liner notes by Erik Flannigan and are available as an 18-track set across 2 LPs or 1 CD.

2024 Glastonbury Festival headlined by Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, and Shania Twain

The 2024 Glastonbury Festival has unveiled its 2024 lineup, featuring headliners Dua Lipa, Coldplay, SZA, and Shania Twain. The event returns to Worthy Farm in Pilton, United Kingdom from June 26-30.

Glastonbury posted on social media: “Here is the first Glastonbury Festival 2024 line-up poster. Many more acts and attractions still to be announced. Tickets for this year’s Festival are sold out, but our prize draw for 20 pairs is raising emergency funds to support people affected by conflict, via link in bio”

Dua Lipa headlines the Pyramid Stage for the first time on Friday night. Coldplay will make their Pyramid Stage debut since 2016 on Saturday. Sza will headline on Sunday, and Shania Twain makes her Glastonbury debut in the legend’s slot. Also performing are Camila Cabello, James Blake, LCD Soundsystem, Burna Boy, Janelle Monáe, Disclosure, Idles, The National, Jessie Ware, and many others, with more artists expected to be announced.

Tickets sold out after going on sale last November; however, organizers say that canceled and returned tickets will be available in April. They will also have a “prize draw” for 20 pairs to raise emergency funds to support people affected by conflict. The prize draw is open to UK residents, until noon GMT on Thursday, March 28th.

Staind and Breaking Benjamin to launch co-headlining 2024 tour with Daughtry

Staind and Breaking Benjamin are kicking off their co-headlining U.S. tour in 2024 with support from Daughtry and Lakeview.

The Stained and Breaking Benjamin 2024 Tour will kick-off on September 10 in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania at The Pavilion at Star Lake (without support from Daughtry). The tour will end on October 25 in Austin, Texas at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater, unless additional final dates are added.

Slash to release sixth solo album featuring Demi Lovato, Chris Stapleton and more

Guitarist Slash will release his sixth solo album, titled Orgy of the Damned on May 17 , featuring a wide-array of special artists including Demi Lovato, Brian Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Beth Hart, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers, Gary Clark Jr., Billy F. Gibbons, Chris Robinson, Dorothy and Tash Neal.

Slash released the first track, a cover of Howlin’ Wolf’s “Killing Floor,” on his YouTube channel.  The song features AC/DC’s Johnson singing the lyrics, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler plays harmonica; you can check out the video: here.  Slash said in a statement of the song: “‘Killing Floor’ is one of my favorite Howlin’ Wolf songs, but also one of the iconic blues riffs that turned me on as a young guitar player. I’ve always wanted to cover it in some capacity and this record was the perfect vehicle.”

For this album, Slash has assembled a blues band which includes Johnny Griparic on bass, Teddy Andreadis on keyboard, Michael Jerome on drums and Tash Neal on guitar/vocals. The 12-track LP includes Robert Johnson’s “Cross Road Blues,” Willie Dixon’s “Hoochie Coochie Man” (first recorded by Muddy Waters) and T-Bone Walker’s “Stormy Monday.” Demi Lovato joins him on”Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” and Iggy Pop appears on “Awful Dream.”
