The Offspring Cover “Tiger King” Track Titled ‘Here Kitty Kitty’

The Offspring have released a new lockdown video of their cover of The Clinton Johnson Band’s “Here Kitty Kitty,” which gained notoriety from the Netflix docuseries “Tiger King”.

The band said about the cover of “Here Kitty Kitty:  “Hey, Guys! Like many of you, we are going a little stir crazy these days and we wanted to do something fun to put a smile on our faces, and hopefully on some of yours too. This song, Here Kitty Kitty, was originally by The Clinton Johnson Band, and *not* by anyone in that recent documentary we all got caught up in.

“The Offspring wives were group texting recently, and while they all agreed that they truly love their husbands, there are times when they’ve absolutely felt like feeding us to the tigers. In that spirit, we hope you enjoy this random song & video.”

British PM Boris Johnson Returns To Work After Recovering From COVID-19

On his first day back at work in three weeks after a bout of COVID-19 that left him hospitalized, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged his nation to be patient and argued that easing social and economic restrictions too soon would create a second deadly spike of coronavirus infections.

Speaking outside his 10 Downing St. office on Monday, Johnson said the country was reaching “the end of the first phase of this conflict” but warned that a quick end to a lockdown due to last at least until May 7 was not in sight. “I refuse to throw away all the effort and the sacrifice of the British people and to risk a second major outbreak and huge loss of life and the overwhelming of the (health system),” said Johnson.  The 55-year-old Johnson appeared thinner but healthier than when he was last seen in public earlier this month, after spending a week in St. Thomas’ Hospital in London earlier this month, including three nights in intensive care.

As of Sunday, Britain had recorded 20,732 deaths among people hospitalized with COVID-19, the fifth country in the world to surpass 20,000 deaths. Despite the death toll, Johnson’s government is under mounting pressure to set out a blueprint for easing the lockdown that has sharply curtailed business and daily life since March 23.When he was discharged on April 13, he thanked medical workers at the hospital for saving his life, saying his condition “could have gone either way.”

Suspect In Custody In Milwaukee House Shooting Which Killed Five

Police took into custody the man who dialed 911 to report five people had been shot to death inside a Milwaukee home on Monday. Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales said during a brief news conference that when officers arrived at the house on the city’s north side they found five victims ranging in age from 14 to 41.

Mayor Tom Barrett told reporters at the house that a baby was found alive in the house. Investigators believe the shooter decided to spare the infant. Morales said investigators recovered a weapon and believe the shooter acted alone, adding that that there’s no threat to the public. The man who called authorities to the house has been taken into custody, and detectives were trying to determine the relationship between the caller and the victims, Morales said. No names have been provided.

The attack is the second mass shooting in Milwaukee this year. Molson Coors brewery worker Anthony Ferrill gunned down five co-workers on Feb. 26 before turning his gun on himself. His motive remains unknown.

LA Lakers Return Federal Relief Loan Received From Coronavirus Rescue Loan Program

The Los Angeles Lakers confirmed on Monday that they returned a loan obtained through the U.S. government’s Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) after learning that funds in the federal program had been depleted. The loans were intended to help smaller businesses with no more than 500 employees cover employee payroll and rent, with large sectors of the U.S. economy frozen amid coronavirus lockdowns and social distancing mandates.

The team said in a statement: “The Lakers qualified for and received a loan under the Payroll Protection Program. However, once we found out the funds from the program had been depleted, we repaid the loan so that financial support would be directed to those most in need.”

The 16-time NBA Finals champions had received a reported $4.6 million loan through the program. The team’s decision comes as some large, publicly traded U.S. companies face backlash for obtaining aid from the program through a loophole.

NBA Targets May 8 For Reopening Practice Facilities For Individual Workouts

The NBA has announced that it will aim to open up team facilities no sooner than May 8 in markets that have stopped stay-at-home orders. The facilities will be limited to a maximum of four players and one member of the franchise’s staff at once. Players must wear face masks at all times except during physical activity. The staff member must wear gloves and implement physical distancing of at least 12 feet.  Each franchise will also need to appoint a Facility Hygiene Officer.

In a memo sent to team, the NBA said it will not regularly schedule COVID-19 testing, something the league had been looking into previously.  “It is not possible or appropriate in the current public health context to regularly test all players and staff for COVID-19,” the memo said.  Players will need to take regular resting ECG and troponin tests, however.=

The NBA season has been suspended since March 11 when Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus ahead of a matchup with Oklahoma City.
