Members of Pantera, Slayer, Mastodon and many many more are among 99 metal stars who took part in a special charity rendition of “99 Bottles”. The track was recorded to benefit Old Dog Haven,, a charity that helps older dogs find foster homes, and was released to mark International Dog Day on August 26th.

The project was launched by Scour’s Derek Engemann and John Jarvis. Engemann said, “This has been an epically fun project involving the entire Metal scene, and even a few Ska bands! This project originally began back in 2013, but was brought back to life once we discovered Old Dog Haven. The ’99 Bottles’ has truly shown the good side of humanity during these wild times that we are in. I was amazed at all of the people who were eager to sign up for a verse.”

Billie Eilish And Finneas Play NPR “Tiny Desk Concert” From Home

Billie Eilish made her debut at NPR’s famous Tiny Desk, accompanied by her brother, Finneas.

The pop star kicked off her mini-set with her latest single “My Future,” which she played on the keyboard.  Eilish said in between songs, “So obviously, we are not actually at Tiny Desk, because this is a cardboard cut-out of it. But it’s still real, it’s just not in-person real. Quarantine’s been weird; I know you all feel the same. It’s been weird, we don’t know how long it’s gonna go. There’s barely anything that feels like there’s any hope in, but I think the future is something to be super hopeful in, and the unknown and what is to come…

Eilish and her brother closed out their performance with 2019’s “Everything I Wanted.”

LA Lakers, Clipper Vote To End NBA Season Amid Jacob Blake Protets

The NBA playoffs are in limbo after six teams refused to play their games Wednesday in response to the police-involved shooting of Jacob Blake. The Milwaukee Bucks began the protest when they didn’t take the floor for Game 5 of their first-round Eastern Conference playoff series against the Orlando Magic Wednesday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.

The NBA’s postponements sparked a sportswide wave of sitouts. Three WNBA games, three MLB bouts, five MLS clashes and a series of tennis matches also were postponed in response to Blake’s shooting.

The NBA’s board of governors and players will have separate meetings to decide how to proceed with the playoffs inside the Walt Disney World Resort. Sources say that most teams polled Wednesday said they want to proceed with the postseason, while the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers were among the teams that voted against continuing.

The NBA and NHL are the only leagues in the United States with active postseasons. Three Stanley Cup playoff games were played as scheduled on Wednesday in Canada, where the NHL has used Toronto and Edmonton as bubble hub cities as a coronavirus pandemic safety precaution.

NBA, MLB, WNBA, MLS All Postpone Wednesday Games In Protest Of Jacob Blake Shooting

The NBA, WNBA, MLB and MLS took a stand against systemic racism and police brutality by boycotting games on Wednesday in response to the police shooting of a black man in Kenosha, Wis.

The wave of boycotts and postponements was sparked by Milwaukee Bucks players’ responding to the shooting of Jacob Blake by refusing to come out of their locker room on Wednesday afternoon for a playoff game against the Orlando Magic. Two more NBA playoff games scheduled for Wednesday night were also postponed, inspiring players in other leagues to follow and causing professional basketball, baseball and soccer games to be called off because athletes would not participate.

In Major League Baseball, three games were called off: the Milwaukee Brewers hosting the Cincinnati Reds, the San Diego Padres playing the Seattle Mariners, and the San Francisco Giants-Los Angeles Dodgers game.

Five matches in Major League Soccer were postponed Wednesday after players objected to playing.

NBA, MLB, WNBA, MLS All Postpone Games To Protest Racial Injustice

The Milwaukee Bucks boycotted Wednesday’s NBA play-off game against the Orlando Magic in an apparent protest against racial injustice following the police shooting of Jacob Blake in their home state of Wisconsin last week. Subsequently, the NBA postponed its two other play-off games scheduled for Wednesday night.

Additionally, three WNBA games were also called off, as were two Major League Baseball games – one of which was due to take place in Milwaukee. Five of the six scheduled Major League Soccer games were also postponed.

Baseball matches between the Cincinnati Reds and Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee, and between the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres in San Diego, were also postponed.

Blake was shot on Sunday in Kenosha, Wisconsin, apparently in the back and in front of his children, with the incident captured on phone video, igniting new protests over racial injustice in several cities.
