President Trump’s Physicians Hopeful He Will Be Released From Hospital Early This Week

President Donald Trump’s medical team said Sunday that Trump’s condition was improving after multiple “episodes” over the weekend. The President’s physicians also that Trump was placed on a steroid therapy typically used in more severe Covid-19 cases.

Dr. Sean Conley, a White House physician said at a news conference, “Since we spoke last, the president has continued to improve. As with any illness, there are frequent ups and downs over the course, particularly when a patient is being so closely watched,”  He added hat the president could be discharged from Walter Reed as soon as Monday. Trump’s doctors said the president was on dexamethasone, the steroid used for the sickest Covid-19 patients. The medical team said the president took his first dose Saturday and would remain on it for the “time being.”

Dr. Conley confirmed that President Trump had a high fever late Friday morning and was administered supplemental oxygen for about an hour at the White House. Dr. Conley said later in the day, Trump appeared to be improving, but doctors still felt that the best course of action was to move him to Walter Reed. Trump has remained without a fever since Friday morning, and his vital signs are stable, according to his doctors.

The news conference came on the same day as President Trump posted photos of himself working from the hospital and taping multiple different video addresses in which he reassured the public he was doing well. On Sunday evening, he left the hospital grounds for a short motorcade ride to wave to supporters gathered outside Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

New York City To Close Schools, Non-Essential Businesses In ‘Hot Spots” Seeing Spike In COVID-19 Cases

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Sunday that New York City will be rewinding the opening of non-essential businesses and schools in areas that are seeing spikes in Covid-19 cases.  De Blasio said that zip codes that have a positivity rate of over 3% for COVID-19 in the last week will have to rollback their reopening.

Said de Blasio, “The plan is to rewind in these nine zip codes. To rewind, to go back, to address the problem by using the tools that we know work, which is to ensure that non-essential businesses are not open and a variety of activities are not happening. We’re obviously going to watch carefully to see if people moving around from community to community is having an effect,” he continued. “But to date, we do not see that happening on a wide scale.”

Last week, New York City saw it’s highest COVID-19 single day positivity rate since June.
