MGK drops the video for “Times of My Life”

Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) has dropped the video for “Times of My Life,” recorded with the crew behind his album, Lost Americana.  The song is written, produced, and performed by MGK alongside Barker (who drums on the song) and other longtime collaborators and friends SlimXX, BazeXX, Nick Long, and No Love For The Middle Child.

“Times of My Life”  dates back to a rough draft composed during the sessions for MGK’s ‘Tickets to My Downfall’ (2020).  In a 2020 tweet, mgk said that the song wasn’t included on the track list due to a “similarity” between its original hook and an unnamed Tom Petty song, which the estate of the late Rock & Roll Hall of Famer didn’t clear.

The artist shared in a social media post: “The song ‘times of my life’ that yall leaked years ago, that I played before we went on stage every night on this tour , the “bloody valentine”

Meanwhile, MGK’s Lost American Tour will resume in North America, the EU/UK, and Australia/New Zealand through July. The new leg kicks-off on February 15th in Bologna, Italy, and returns stateside on May 15 in Wheatland, CA, before wrapping July 1st in Ridgefield, WA. Ticket info can be found: HERE.

Two federal agents that fired guns in shooting of Alex Pretti placed on administrative leave

Two federal officers involved in the fatal shooting of Minneapolis ICU nurse Alex Pretti have been placed on administrative leave while investigations continue. The decision follows an internal review by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and contradicts earlier statements suggesting the agents had remained on duty in another city for safety reasons.

Pretti, 37, was shot and killed on Saturday during an encounter with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Border Patrol agents who were conducting enforcement actions as part of Operation Metro Surge near Nicollet Avenue and 25th Street. DHS said the temporary leave is standard protocol after an officer-involved shooting and “should not be viewed as any suspicion of wrongdoing.”

According to a preliminary DHS report sent to Congress, two officers discharged their agency-issued Glock pistols after a brief struggle. During the encounter, an agent repeatedly shouted, “He’s got a gun!” before shots were fired roughly five seconds later. Investigators have not confirmed whether bullets from both officers struck Pretti.

Homeland Security officials said early statements describing Pretti as a potential mass attacker were based on chaotic initial reports. “The initial statement was based on reports from CBP from a very chaotic scene on the ground. That’s precisely why an investigation is underway and DHS will let the facts lead the investigation,” a spokesperson said.

Federal officials said the confrontation began after officers tried to clear civilians from the roadway amid protests and whistle-blowing demonstrators. After pepper spray was used, agents attempted to detain Pretti, who resisted, leading to a brief struggle. Following the shooting, agents provided emergency medical aid until paramedics arrived. Pretti was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Minnesota officials stated that Pretti was a lawful gun owner with a permit to carry and no criminal history. Video footage reviewed by multiple news outlets appears to show him holding a phone in one hand and nothing in the other immediately before he was shot. Additional footage indicates that an officer retrieved a firearm from Pretti’s waistband just moments before gunfire erupted. The report does not mention Pretti attacking officers or pointing a weapon.

A federal judge has ordered authorities to preserve all evidence after state investigators were initially blocked from accessing the scene. Both DHS and CBP are conducting separate investigations, and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office has yet to release autopsy results.

The shooting of Pretti follows another fatal encounter earlier this month, when 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was shot by an immigration officer. In response, Democratic leaders called for DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s resignation “The country is disgusted by what the Department of Homeland Security has done,” House Democratic Reps. Hakeem Jeffries, Katherine Clark, and Pete Aguilar said in a joint statement. “Kristi Noem should be fired immediately,” they added, “or we will commence impeachment proceedings in the House of Representatives.”

The CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility, which handles serious misconduct and criminal allegations, is leading the internal inquiry. Officials emphasized that the preliminary report outlines known facts but does not represent final conclusions.

Amazon to cut 16,000 positions as it restructures around AI and efficiency

Amazon announced Wednesday it will eliminate about 16,000 positions across the company, marking its second major round of layoffs in three months as it continues to streamline operations and invest heavily in artificial intelligence.

In a memo to employees, Beth Galetti, Amazon’s senior vice president of people experience and technology, said the cuts aim to simplify the organization by reducing management layers, increasing ownership, and cutting bureaucracy. “The reductions we are making today will impact approximately 16,000 roles across Amazon, and we’re again working hard to support everyone whose role is impacted,” she wrote.

Most affected U.S.-based employees will receive 90 days to seek other roles within the company. Those who cannot find new positions will be offered severance pay, job placement assistance, and continued health benefits. Galetti said Amazon will keep hiring in strategic areas essential to its long-term growth, adding that the company does not plan to make broad layoffs a routine practice, but teams will continue adjusting staffing as business needs evolve. CEO Andy Jassy has said efficiency gains from generative AI are likely to reduce corporate headcount in coming years, following Amazon’s rapid hiring during the pandemic.

The move follows October’s layoffs of 14,000 corporate workers, bringing total cuts since then to roughly 30,000 — about 10% of Amazon’s corporate and technology workforce. Some reductions will impact divisions such as Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios.

Amazon, which employs about 1.55 million people worldwide, has cut more than 27,000 jobs since 2022 and continues to reshape its business, including closing its Amazon Fresh grocery and cashierless Go stores. The company is redirecting resources toward AI and large-scale data center expansion, with capital spending projected to reach $125 billion in 2026.

The announcement comes amid widespread corporate layoffs as companies pursue efficiency and automation in a slower hiring environment. Firms including Pinterest, Microsoft, Meta, Target, and UPS have recently announced workforce reductions as they pivot toward higher-margin and AI-driven operations.

Cleveland Browns hire former Ravens OC Todd Monken as their next head coach

The Cleveland Browns have hired former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken as their next head coach. Monken, who turns 60 next week, replaces Kevin Stefanski – who was dismissed after Cleveland finished near the bottom of the league for the second straight year. The Browns retained general manager Andrew Berry, who will work closely with Monken as the team reshapes its roster and long-term strategy.

Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam said in a statement: “Todd is an outstanding leader with a clear vision,” citing his communication skills, accountability, and focus on player development. Berry added that Monken’s adaptability and experience with different quarterbacks and systems make him a strong fit for a young, evolving roster.

A familiar face in Cleveland, Monken previously served as the Browns’ offensive coordinator in 2019, when he helped fuel a powerful running game led by Nick Chubb, who rushed for nearly 1,500 yards. He spent the last three seasons calling plays in Baltimore, where his offenses consistently ranked among the NFL’s best. In 2024, the Ravens led the league in both total and rushing offense, and quarterback Lamar Jackson reached career highs in passing production.

Before rejoining the NFL, Monken orchestrated Georgia’s explosive offense during a dominant three-year college run, guiding the Bulldogs to two national championships and a 37-3 overall record. His success in Athens paved the way for his return to pro football, where his creative schemes and aggressive style quickly drew league-wide attention.

Cleveland’s coaching search stretched across several weeks and included interviews with defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, Rams passing game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase, and Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski. Other top candidates, including Mike McDaniel and Jesse Minter, withdrew from consideration, ultimately clearing the path for Monken to emerge as the front-runner.

Monken inherits a defense that has been among the league’s best since Schwartz arrived in 2023, though it remains uncertain whether Schwartz will stay under the new regime. The Browns hold the sixth and 24th overall picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, along with 10 total selections, giving Monken and Berry ample flexibility to reshape the roster.

Tyson Fury ends retirement, sets April comeback bout vs. Arslanbek Makhmudov on Netflix

Tyson Fury will step back into the ring this spring, ending his latest retirement to face hard-hitting Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov in a comeback fight on April 11 in the United Kingdom. The fight will stream live worldwide on Netflix, which said the event will be available at no extra cost to subscribers. The venue and full fight card will be announced in the coming weeks, and the bout will mark Netflix’s first live boxing broadcast from the U.K.

Netflix and promoters confirmed the matchup Wednesday, marking Fury’s first bout in more than a year and his first fight on home soil since 2022. The streamer posted on X: “Tyson Fury is coming home.TYSON FURY vs. ARSLANBEK MAKHMUDOV. Saturday April 11 from the United Kingdom — and LIVE only on Netflix.”

Fury, 37, announced his return earlier this month after retiring in January 2025 — the fifth time he has stepped away from the sport. His most recent appearances came in 2024, when he suffered back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk, the only defeats of his career. His latest return had long been anticipated after he posted training videos and hinted on social media that a comeback was near. His decision also revives speculation about a long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua later this year, though Joshua’s recovery from injuries sustained in a serious car crash in Nigeria has cast uncertainty over those plans.

Fury enters the bout with a 34-2-1 record, including 24 knockouts, after going unbeaten in his first 35 professional fights. “Excited to be back,” Fury said in a release. “Heart’s always been and always will be in boxing. Someone go tell the king that the ace is back!”

Makhmudov, 36, brings a 21-2 record with 19 knockouts and is known for his aggressive, power-heavy style. He is coming off an October victory over David Allen and a June win against Ricardo Brown. Although he enters as the underdog, the Russian said he welcomes the challenge. “I am thrilled about the opportunity. I’m coming to deliver a War,” Makhmudov said. “Tyson Fury has been a big champion. I will be more ready than ever to leave with a massive W.”
